“See Real Minneapolis in the Summer”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

The chain of Lakes in Minneapolis, specifically Isles, Calhoun and Harriett, are urban jewels. Walk, run, ride your bike, canoe, swim and see the people! This lake attracts visitors from all the neighborhoods of the city, so you will overhear many languages during your 3.2 mile walk around the lake. There is even a resident loon family on the lake, at least there was during the summer of 2012.. Grab a taco at Tin Fish, or walk a short distance into Uptown for any number of meal and drink options. For visitors, you can witness why Minneapolitans love their city in the spring, summer, and fall. Winter is still being debate...

“Great Walking”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

It is about 3.5 miles around Lake Calhoun. It has a trail for walkers and another for riders, skaters. Great flat level exercise.

“Lake Calhoun is another beautiful feature of Minneapolis”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

One of the best parts of Minneapolis is the chain of lakes located right in the middle of south Minneapolis. Canoeing the interconnected chain of lakes, starting at Lake Harriet, to Lake Calhoun, to Lake of the Isles, and to Cedar Lake is a beautiful way to spend a summer day.

“Nothing like a good walk around Calhoun”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

But obviously in the Summer... where everyone's walking a dog, or biking, or just pickicking... lovely place in town to "be outside" and enjoy a great day..

“Lovely 3 mile lake walk”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

This lake has a lot of pedestrian and bike traffic, probably the most popular - next to Harriet in Minneapolis. It is across the street from Lake of the Isles and a few blocks from lots of restaurants and shops in the Uptown area. There is a small swimming area and canoes to rent.
