If you are looking for white linen and extra fancy, this is not your place. If you are looking for rustic, down-home pizza, here it is.

Terriffic coal fired pizza in unpretentious place. Nice feel, attentive service and pizzas cooked perfectly. A truly authentic American experience. If you like John's on Bleeker in Manhatten, then this is the place for you. Great value too.

The coal-fired pizza was very good. We liked the Meatball, Ricotta and Garlic pizza a little better than the Pepperoni. We ate outside as the inside was too noisy to carry on a conversation.

We had heard so many rave reviews about this restaurant (and I love pizza) that my husband and I decided to get lunch here before walking along the Mississippi River on a lazy Saturday afternoon. We ordered one of their special pizza with the fennel seed sausage and several other things on it. I guess my expectations got in the way, but we both thought the pizza was good, but surely not great. The crust was a little soft even though there didn't seem to be much (any?) red sauce on it. Whatever. It is very noisy - hard surfaces all over and a fairly small open space. Service was attentive and the beer selection was good.

The food, both pizzas and salads are delicious. The fennel seed sausage is really good, as is the farm salad. The only "down side" to this restaurant is the layout/ambiance. It gets really, really loud because it is so small and open. The servers are very attentive and friendly, and I have always been attended to very well. If you love pizza, you should try it, but maybe order a pizza and salad to go?
