Beautiful, clean theatre with excellent screen, sound system, seats. Also cheap admission and food. They know how to move people along so you won't be late. Bring cash. Parking can be a hassle so get there early.

You can't go wrong at this vintage one-screen neighborhood theater with original stadium seating. After paying just $3 for a ticket, order the "special" at the concession stand and get a big tub of popcorn and a soda for a great price. Refills are not free, but as you watch them feed sticks of REAL BUTTER into the popper, you'll forgive the small charge when you gotta have that second bucket!

The lobby still has the same style of decor as when it first opened in 1948. Over the years they have updated the sound system and gotten comfy seats, but the feel of the auditorium hasn't changed much. movies here are shown a few months after their initial release, but it's worth the wait to get that big-screen experience on a budget. Popular shows sell out fast, and it's not unusual to see a line around the block.

This may be a second-run theater, but there is definately NOTHING second-rate about it!

Despite its discount prices, this single-screen theatre has both excellent video and audio quality, as well as a large screen.

Tickets are $2-$3 and they show movies around when they are released on DVD. The popcorn there is always great, and the theater is always clean and well-kept.

Also, look for special showings. They frequently show old movies like Indiana Jones or Princess Bride. In December they usually have a Lord of the Rings marathon, as well as showing of It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story.

In short, great theater, great prices, great movies, great popcorn. I come here all the time and you should too!

This one-screen theater is charming, with very cheap snacks and ticket price. We typically try to wait for movies to arrive at Riverview to see them, 2 or 3 month delay and you still get the big screen experience. No 3D of course, but otherwise great. Also love that they mix it up over the summer with classics.

The Riverview is old neighborhood movie theater tucked in southeast Minneapolis. It generally plays second run movies. The ticket prices are $3.00 while sodas and popcorn, with real butter, mind you, will set you back a mere $7.00. Total cost for two comes to $13.00. That's the price of a ticket for a suburban multiplex theater. The newer seats were overdue for a number of years. Weekends still include midnight shows, and weekends are for kids all day long. This is a local treasure that still retains the art deco interior design.
