This was my first Aloft experience and I enjoyed the stay. It is a long walk to the downtown area but the Old Stone Bridge is close as well as the old mill district. Nice rooms and amenities. Lobby staff were cheerful and friendly. Great bookstore and comic book store across the street. Would stay here again.

I usually love staying at Aloft Hotels. When i arrived to the hotel, it was around 1am and the parking structure was "full" even though there were multiple cars coming out of it. So we had to park in the back where it was dark and not a good area to be unloading at 1am. Went to check in and the gentlemen at the front desk was very eager to get us out of his way. I asked for any food options since we traveled all day and were very hungry and he said they had no restaurant near by or anything else to recommend. That was satisfying! The staff was unfriendly to say the least. We just wanted to get out of there and go The Hotel Ivy the next night, which made this place seem like an Economy Inn. Sorry, but we will not be staying here again.

Room Tip: Don't come hungry and be prepared for the staff to want to get you in and out.

My husband and I along with another couple recently spent a night at this hotel for a game at the Metrodome. The location is perfect - just block away. We have stayed at other Aloft properties, and this one was just as we expected. Our room and the common areas were clean. Our only complaint was in terms of the bed and pillows. The mattress was HARD (and this is coming from people who like a firmer bed) and the pillows were way too soft. We were concerned about the noise level as clearly this is a popular hotel for people going to the game, but it was quiet in the rooms.

Everyone at this hotel was super friendly. The hotel is in a very convenient location to the Guthrie Theater. No shuttle from the airport, but the light rail stop is only 2 blocks away. The hotel does have a free shuttle that drove me everywhere I wanted to go (within a 5 mile radius - remember to tip!).

Rooms are "modern" with lots of ways to connect your devices to the tv (bring your own cables, though). The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Great gym area. Fast reliable wifi (for a hotel, at least) - I was attending a conference at the Guthrie where wifi was awful - came back to the hotel to get work done.

Parking tip: If you just need to park your car and don't need in/out, just park in the Guthrie deck. It's $8/day as opposed to the $15/day through the hotel.

We were there to attend a concert and it was a surprise for our daughter, we were impressed how the whole staff (even the shuttle driver) were able to keep the secret! The staff were fun and very nice, I highly recommend this hotel and will be back.

My wife and I had been initially turned off by the Aloft brand when we had stayed next door to a loud party (at the Baltimore Airport). This trip we gave the brand another chance when the le Meridien Chambers was completely sold out. The Aloft really impressed us. It is not in the middle of things in terms of downtown minneapolis, but it is close enough and a ton cheaper than the hotels that are right in the middle of things. Also we were able to park for free on a Saturday night by parking behind the building and not in the garage parking. The rooms are exactly like every other aloft - hip modern and highly functional. Our room faced away from Washington and was quiet and very very clean. We were extremely happy with our stay.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the back of the building- you have a better view of the park and there will be less roa...

My boyfriend and I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night for a quick weekend trip. Our first impression of the hotel was a little disappointing due to the not-so-friendly, but not-completely-rude welcome by a female concierge at the front desk. The hotel is very modern and has what looked like a popular bar in the lobby. The room and bathroom are small, but we only stayed a couple of nights so it was fine and slept great both of them.
Saturday morning we went down to ask for tips about the light rail which is only 3 blocks away, and this time the service was much better. The male concierge was very friendly and made a GREAT recommendation to try Sanctuary across the street for dinner.
Overall, we probably wouldn't stay here again because it was so modern, but it was fine for a couple of nights.
