The aloft Minneapolis is in a newly developed/developing area of Minneapolis anchored by the Guthrie. It is very convenient to the Guthrie as well as the riverfront parks, Mill City Museum and Metrodome. There are a lot of quality restaurants and popular bars within easy walking distance.

The Metrodome light rail stop is close and east walking distance or arrange a ride on the hotel shuttle if it's available. It's complimentary in the local area (don't know the exact limits). You really don't even need a car. There is some limited outdoor parking at the hotel and space in the adjoining condo garage.

The rooms are uniquely designed and decorated. Our room had a very nice view. Bed was very comfortable. I like the fact that they have liquid soap dispensers mounted in the shower. Much more economically and ecologically responsible. And the maid actually followed the towel reuse policy. Another unique quality. Only problem is that one of the phones kept beeping at random. No low battery indication. So we just buried it in towels at night.

The happy hour is great with good selection and awesome hours. Happy hour lasts most of the evening ('til 11 p.m., I think). Krista was our bartender and server (she seemed to be pretty much on her own both nights we were there though occasionally I spotted someone else carrying food out) and she did a great job. Very gregarious, friendly and attentive. She made great drinks as well. The food was also very tasty. We had three cheese pizza and quesadillas.

The workout facility is fantastic.

The pool area is very nice. Had it to ourselves most of the time.

There is a very nice courtyard for relaxing outside without the noise of the city.

Stayed on points so can't really comment of value or cost per night.

We have stayed at this A-Loft hotel 4 times and we really like the facility. It is very comfortable, quiet, and located close to the Guthrie Theater and the MetroDome. The staff has always been exceptionally attentive and friendly. They have been more than accommodating in finding restaurants, shuttling us to nearby shopping, and driving instructions. We would happily stay here again. Only complaint is that the compressor for the a/c is loud, so if you are a light sleeper, that could be an issue.

Great location! It is located next to the Guthrie and within walking distance to the Dome. The hotel is very contemporary and fun! Great lobby/bar area. Nice breakfast/market area. The breakfast is not complimentary. The desk staff was excellent and very attentive. The blind in our room was broken and maintenance was to our room within 5 minutes. The maids and maintenance went out of their way to be friendly. I have never seen that in a hotel setting before. The room was very nicely furnished. Bed was firm but of good quality. Nice sliding mirror door to bathroom. Great shower. Nice pool area with warm water. Hot tub was on the small side. There is a courtyard with nice seating and a fire pit. Although parking is not on site, the ramp is just across the street. Parking is $6 after 10:00 on the weekend. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a great little hotel in a location that's getting a bit of a face lift. Set among brand new condos, parks, and museums, I was surprised how inviting and comfortable the area was. We had a great time walking around and exploring the area, and I came away with a really great opinion of Minneapolis.

The hotel room made great use of the available space (be careful with that sliding bathroom door though!) and had a comfortable bed. The ambiance and clever use of space reminded me of the Sheraton Four Points in Zurich (which makes sense since aloft and Four Points are targeted to the same spending level): although the rooms are smaller than what you might find at a Sheraton or Westin, they have all the amenities you expect to find with Starwood brand hotels - and good coffee.

The bar was a great place to relax and unwind - I loved the pool table although I didn't use it. They have a few local beers on tap (it'd be nice to have more), and a good cocktail selection. The pictures on display opposite the bar is a nice touch, and the familiar scene of sunset behind the HB pier made me chuckle.

The downside: with all the space devoted to the bar/lounge area, a little more room for the breakfast/snack bar space could have been found. No big deal though.

The staff were great; courteous and laid back, without being dismissive. This is a fun hotel, and we may return.

I stayed two nights at the Aloft for a conference. It is located in the Mill District of downtown Minneapolis (very trendy, right next to Guthrie Theatre and a couple of blocks from the metrodome. It is beautifully designed - modern, sleek - from the lobby to public areas to the rooms. I stayed in a regular double room and can recommend it highly. Crisp linens, fluffy pillows, big thick towels, immaculately clean. The room/bathroom layout is uniques and very efficient. Every detail, down to the beautiful sink, funky modern clock, and even the soap/shampoo whose fragrance matches the ambient building fragrance - everything is top notch without being stuffy. And....free wifi! That never happens in a high-end hotel! Far exceeded my expectations and would definitely stay there again.
