I'm a long-time fan of the MIA (as native Minnesotans call it.) It's a great addition to the culture of Minneapolis, featuring a wonderful permanent collection, and many special shows, like the current Matisse. And it's free every day. Unfortunately, it is no longer a lunch and museum outing for me. The new restaurants that have been added-Grain Stack, Half Pint and the Dogwood coffee bar left me very disappointed. The menu options were unappealing. My husband would never find anything to eat. I took my grandson to the attached Children's Theatre with plans to have lunch at the Half Pint cafe which was advertised as a "kid-friendly" option for good food. Here is the stuff my 10 year old grandson had to choose from-Farrow salad, whitefish sandwich, bento box with beet hummus....etc. We settled on a ice cream shake that was the smallest I have ever seen. There was nothing else for him. Bring back D'Amico which had something for everyone!! Don't stay away from our fabulous museum, just eat before you come!
