Recently we went to see one of their major exhibitions - it was nicely presented and well done. Equally impressive was the smaller presentation of African textiles we stopped at as we were browsing our way out. Get a membership - support this great art center for all to enjoy! One of the last that is still free to all!

Took the family to see the Rembrandt exhibit. First time to an art museum for the kids age 14 & 16. They were not thrilled about being dragged to a boring museum. After going through the exhibit and seeing the other exhibits, I had to drag them out. We all found the trip fascinating and a ton of fun. It should be no problem getting them back.

This is a perfect place to go as a destresser. It is quiet, beautiful and has many options for whatever type of art you like. The period rooms are wonderful and full of articles. Just a nice place to spend time.

The MIA is a world-class art museum that, wonderfully, still has no admission fee. It houses works of art from Van Gogh, Monet, Gaughin, Rembrandt, Russell, Remington, Picasso, Dali, Magritte, and many others, including some marvelous regional landscape artists.

The museum includes several period rooms, reconstructed with the original walls and furniture. Most of the first floor has an extensive collection of Asian and African art.

It's a lovely way to spend an entire afternoon, and still leaves you wanting to return for more.

If your are in to art you will love this museum. It has one of the best collections anywhere. Very nice mix of styles, countries of origin and eras. The Rembrandt show that was there recently was awesome and they currently have show of the Terra Cotta warriros from the tomb in China. One of the few top museums that do not charge entry but ask for free will offering.
