We stayed here for a one night, Friday night getaway. Wanted something downtown Minneapolis where we could walk to bars and restaurants. Location is great and the hotel itself is unique, located in the Foshay Tower. The original Art Deco touches have been combined with more modern style, giving the hotel a special feel. Service was great and staff are very helpful. Enjoy a drink at Prohibition on the 27th floor for skyline views and a great ambience!

I've stayed here multiple times, it's a unique W because of the Historic Foshay (Foshay was a Ponzi Schemer - check out the museum up top) Tower it's housed in. Great bar- prohibition and observation deck on top 2 floors. Good casual comfort food restaurant - Keys. Also great steak house - Manny's attached. Connects to skyway and walking distance to everything.

Room Tip: Prohibition bar up top serves steak from Manny's downstairs in a more casual, fun atmosphere.

My 20 year old niece and I were visiting for the weekend and were looking for a cool fun place to stay. The room was fabulous - we rented a suite and it was spacious and well-appointed. , Equally importantly, the staff was uniformly helpful, cheery and terrific! In particular, the concierge, Lisa Heath, made decisions about what to do, where to go, where to eat, and how to get there SUPER EASY! I would highly recommend this place -especially for 20- and 30-somethings - as a great place to spend a fun-filled weekend!

We've stayed at the "W" in Minneapolis a couple of times and really like it's location. It's next to Manny's steakhouse which is a plus and within walking distance of Nicollet Mall. The living room bar is great and we love to hang out and have a drink. They also have the prohibition bar up on the 27th floor which is really cozy and a great place to hang out. My only complaint about this hotel are the beds, they just aren't that comfortable. But all in all it's a great place to stay.

Room Tip: We've never had a bad room when we've stayed.

The Living Room Bar, Manny’s Steakhouse, and the sky high Prohibition lounge are some of the hottest spots in the city for entertainment right under the roof of the historic Foshay Tower. Spent a long weekend at the W.. We upgraded rooms (which is definitely recommended as the regular sized rooms are super tiny, and get smaller as the floors go up - the Foshay narrows at the top). It's decked out in the the usual W vibe, sleek furniture, dark carpets, bliss products. Our room was comfortable, albeit the bathroom was a bit too hip for my taste.. That's only because the sink is square, and while there was a smaller counter to the left, it was still too small to accommodate 2 toiletry bags, which meant, one always had to live below the sink (on the rack with the extra towels, toilet paper etc).

The Foshay is a great party hotel. Given that we were in town with a number of friends the bars (both lobby level and Foshay) were great. Exuding an air of speakeasies, big drinks and the like. Definitely worth checking out the museum (only open during daylight hours) to grab a view of greater MSP.

We stayed at the W hotel this weekend for Valentine's Day. The rooms were clean, service was friendly; however the bed was extremely uncomfortable. When we were asked during check-out how our stay was, we said everything was good except for the bed which hurt our backs and even seemed to sag in the middle, the person at the front desk did not say anything in reply. It would have been nice to hear "I'm sorry, we will be sure to let management know" or something to that effect. A disappointing end to our stay. The rooms are overpriced for the size and amenities offered.

Stayed with my partner on Valentine's Day and was happy overall. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. After finding our room, we received a call asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything, which we thought was a nice touch. The room was modern, and the corner room offered a good view with lots of natural light. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was sleek with a rainfall shower head and a relaxing mood light instead of the usual blinding white light. On the downside, the room was full of items for purchase that were ridiculously overpriced, including a fridge that had no room for your own food/drink because it was full of up charge items, and seemingly didn't work in the first place, much like other reviews on here. The room was also rather overpriced. Even though it was Valentine's Day, it's no 5 star hotel and the basic king room, although modem and comfortable, was only worth half of what they charged. Overall though, the vibe of the hotel was cool, it was clean, modern, and comfortable.
