Owner description: The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is closed for renovation, and will reopen in June 2017. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden unites two of Minnesota’s most cherished resources—its greenspace and its cultural life. A partnership with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, the Garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry in an outdoor park setting.

We visited the Mpls Sculpture Garden with our two young-ish sons after a busy day of driving.

This attraction is free (parking is not, but at $3, it's a bargain) and has a fantastic collection of oversized sculpture, all of different origin and purpose. It is really a large park at which kids (and adults) can stretch their legs and have a cultural experience at the same time. It was extremely hot (93F) when we were there, and we were grateful for the varied exposures of the pieces; some in full exposure, some shaded by beautiful trees, gazebos, etc. There is also a killer view of the Mpls skyline from most places in the garden.

Highly recommend for anyone, whether alone or with family/friends!

The sculpture garden makes for a lovely walk on a summer afternoon/evening. Some sculptures are interactive, the landscaping is beautiful, and there are several bars/restaurants in easy walking distance.

We rode bikes here from downtown on a Friday morning. There were plenty of people walking around, but it was still easy to get the requisite photo of the cherry on the spoon without others in the shot. The greenhouse area and flower garden in the back are definitely worth seeing as well. There is a cool-looking "artist-designed" miniature golf area as well.

The Mpls sculpture garden if fun...it has many outdoor sculptures, along with wonderful landscaping. As part of this Garden there's a miniature golf course which is made up of different art projects...there's also a conservatory (A small hot house). Across the street from the garden
is the Walker Art Center...The Gathering (A wonderful place to eat) is in the Walker...It is not open on Mondays. There is a bridge from the Garden that crosses over Hennepin to a lovely park called Loriing Park. If you walk up Hennepin Ave. (South, away from downtown) and you're willing to walk about a mile...you'll get to Lake Street and the Uptown area...lots of fun...you're also near the lakes....grab a bike (Nice Ride) and peddle around the area...lots of fun places...lots of adventures.

We went on a Monday, so the indoor exhibits are closed. The outdoor sculptures looked GREAT, and the grounds are well kept. Took lots of photos.
