The food--a bit of Italian a bit of Mexican--is some of the best in town. The chef/owner is friendly, the staff efficient. Tomatillo soup and a fish taco for lunch. The best.

We have been to LaChaya several times and the food has been consistently good. The portion sizes are perfect for ordering a salad/soup and pasta entree, which is what we had the last time we visited LaChaya. We went with another couple and ended up getting 8 different items (soups/salads/entrees) and all were good. I had the pesto pasta, which was a bit salty but still flavorful. It continues to be a solid weekend dinner spot!

La Chaya Bistro is an absolute neighborhood gem. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Juan, the owner, goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Great restaurant anc cool vibe.

This is not your average "taco-joint." The food is well-prepared with a attention to the details. The portions are realistic, not super-sized and the service is kind, attentive and helpful. The restaurant is decorated with interesting metal-work on the exterior and a relaxed, tasteful atmosphere on the interior. Looking forward to trying many more dishes on the menu!

This is a restaurant with a lot of potential, although it is a bit pricey for something in this area. I had a haddock fish special sandwich that is one of the best lunch entres that I have ever eaten anywhere. My only caveat is that service can be a bit on the slow side--they could do with a bit more sense of urgency.

If you are looking for a place in South Minneapolis to have a nice business lunch, I recommend that you give this a try. You will enjoy the experience.
