Wonderful food. Both the polenta and the scallop dishes were excellent. Good wine and beer list. However our server Kate was the highlight of the event. Great recommendations and attentiveness. We'll be back.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at the bar on a Friday night recently, and enjoyed a wonderful meal start to finish. Chef Adam Vickerman and his crew do an outstanding job in all respects. We ordered the beet, watermelon and feta salad and wine. The salad was a work of art, and a good one to share - we didn't even completely finish it. We also shared a burger and a trio of vegetable sides (charred kale, asparagus, and mushrooms). All were delicious! The wine list is very good, according to my boyfriend who is more knowledgable in that area. Our waitress was delightful and professional. We weren't at Cafe Levain for a special reason, but the night felt like an anniversary or special romantic date. Cafe Levain is very warm and comfortable, with an open kitchen. The noise level is low, and the prices are extremely reasonable in our opinion for the quality of food and service. We will definitely go back soon!

We enjoyed a Sunday night dinner at Cafe Levain last weekend. On Sundays, Cafe Levain offers a prix fixe dinner, three courses for $25. After a dreamy tomato soup, we dined on seared scallops with heirloom potato salad, beet puree, and yellow watermelon fresh from the back garden or market -- I'm not sure where they source their beautiful locally grown produce. For dessert, we had a wonderful lemon polenta cake with homemade ice cream -- yum! We also enjoyed the wine pairings; a glass of wine paired to each course. The wine was a bargain, too -- three glasses of wine for $15. Cheers to Levain's talented chefs!

I have dined at Cafe Lavain since it opened the doors many years ago. I find the restaurant is now the perfect combination of upscale dishes at middle price points. The specials are usually very hard to pass on even though the Short Ribs are the signature dish. I love to see what the new seasons bring to the table.

Fresh menu, backyard garden grown ingredients, nice neighborood, personable staff, small but not too small.
