This hotel is in serious need of a facelift. What the hotel needs even more than a facelift is new staff! The day-time front desk person has people skills about as smooth as a porcupine. There is no redeeming quality to this hotel so don't waste your money staying here.

We booked a room at this location through Expedia as the Baymont Inns and Suites. Upon arrival, we discovered it was now a Quality Inn and Suites. Quality is NOT what we found. We arrived around 9:45 PM, and on checking in, we went to the assigned room only to find beds and bed frames leaning up against the walls. When we went back to the front desk area (it was in a rather shabby state), the desk attendant gave us another room and went with us to the room (he was bare-footed). When we entered the room and flicked on the light switch by the door, no light came on, so had to go through the dark room to find the lamp that could be turned on. The room was very cold, so the heater had to be turned on. We decided to go to a near by restaurant to get a quick bite to eat while the room warmed up. Upon return about 45 minutes later,, we looked into the bath room only to see an uneven tile floor with what looked like mold in between some of the tiles. There was also toilet paper in the toilet that should have been flushed away. The chair in the corner of the room was very worn and shabby, just like the chairs in the lobby area. At this point, we decided we couldn't stay at this establishment, and fortunately we were able to find a room at the Fairfield Inn nearby. We asked the desk attendant to cancel our credit card charges, but he said we'd have to talk to the hotel manager, who was not available. We stopped back at the "Quality" Inn the next day to see the manager, but we were told he was out of town. When we finally were able to talk to him via phone (we were no longer in the Mankato area), he refused to credit us saying we had occupied the room. (Does looking into the room and finding it totally unsatisfactory constitute occupancy?) We will try for reimbursement through the credit card company. Unless they do a major refurbishment of this establishment, we would advise anyone to avoid this place.

This motel is centrally located in the "Hilltop" area of Mankato and is in close proximity to Minnesota State College, nearby eating places, (Red Lobster is within walking distance across the parking lot), as well as theaters and the Mall.
We stayed there four nights and were satisfied with the accommodations. Beds and rooms were very comfortable, but the high point of the stay was the breakfast that came in the price of the room. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, bagels, pastries, and juices and fruits of all kinds were readily accessible, but the high point was the accessibility of "fresh" coffee, (brewed by the cup), 24 hours per day.

This location seems to be getting upgrades/remodeling. I do not agree with previous reviews stating negative things about the decor. The lobby, breakfast area, hallways, and our room were nicely appointed.
The tv was huge as well. Wifi was strong throughout the hotel. Staff was friendly.
There is a hot tub and pool.
Breakfast our first day had many options, breakfast burrito, potatoes, and egg omelet. The second day scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes. On top of waffles, pasteries, cerals, your etc.
The second day the cooler broke, so the contents went bad but that's an unexpected thing that can happen anywhere.
There is no elevator so ask for a first floor room if you need one.
2 things we noticed, 2 people in housekeeping were cleaning multiple rooms at a time, instead of focusing on one and making sure they have a few ready at check in.
The drapes on the back side of the hotel shouldn't be sheer, as there is a hotel with very bright lights that shine in at night.
Otherwise we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. Pricing was great as well. Rooms also have microwave and fridge which was a wonderful thing to have.

It was worn, dirty. Very moldy caulking around bath, peeling wallpaper and ceiling issues which were painted over. Breakfast area was dirty and hadn't been swept plus they were out of coffee. Management was less than hospitable. This wasn't the worst quality inn we've stayed in but 2nd to the worst.
