“frozen waterfalls...very cool”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We have been hiking here before but in the winter/spring we really enjoyed the frozen waterfalls. Path was a bit slippery so you need some good hiking boots.

“Quiet and beautiful park”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

This park is far enough north of Duluth that there are not as many tourists here compared to Gooseberry Falls (also wonderful). The trails are really pretty along Cascade River. Bring a picnic lunch or eat after your hike at the really good restaurant which is located just on the edge of the park. Kids will enjoy playing in the river!

“Beautiful place to stop and take a break”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It was full of people, but still enough room to stand by the river and feel the rushing waters hit you. The kids also got in the river and got their feet wet, and threw some rocks.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We are spoiled by our hiking in MT and WY. We hiked the Cascade Loop trail and the first two miles up the west side of the river are great. But after that it is very boring, not near the river and very little for views.
