These condos are just a place to stay with a kitchen. Lovely views from the tiny deck and fantastic ski access. Room was extremely warm, even with the thermostat set to 62. Quiet until the bars closed. Druken louts disturbed our sleep the first night at 1:30 AM, but my wife and I laughed it off.

The wife and I went up for some skiing on 3-7 to 3-9 the weather was very warm[50 degrees] it turned the whole area into a bowl of heavy mashed potatoes, which obviously lutsen has no control over ,but eagle ridge does' have control over the accomadations which I will get into.First off the advertise wi-fi which is very hard to get ,the septic system was right out front of our E-building and it had a pretty good stench, a couple of our walls were smashed in, and our bathroom was mouldy and the wood on the vanity was rotting, the walls are so thin you can hear people from two or three units away also the tv is about a twenty year old unit, the irony of this reveiw is if you can hit the skiing conditions when they are good we would go back there just because the location is great but for eagle ridge to charge and claim they are a top resort I think they need a major infusion of CASH and some major leaguge remodeling.

First time skiing at Lutsen (Feb. 26-28, 2010). Chose the newest luxury accommodations at the resort - Eagle Ridge Executive Condos, also known as Building B. Unit layout and finishes were top notch, however neighbor noise and housekeeping standards were terrible for a Manhattan-worthy nightly rate of $417.00 with taxes.

LOWS:
1. Noise from unit above. The building is 12 units. 6 on the lower floor. 6 on the upper floor. We stayed in a lower unit. On Saturday, Midnight to after 1:00am, our neighbors above kept all 6 of us awake. We thought they were furniture bowling. Really loud. Not impressive sound deadening for 1 year old "luxury" construction.

2. Fruit Loops and crumbs found in both sleeper sofas. As an end unit, we had 2 sofa sleepers. On our arrival night, we were disgusted to find fruit loop remnants and crumbs inside not one but both sleeper sofas. Housekeeping clearly did not inspect either sofa sleeper.

3. Scalding hot shower temperature. Unable to adjust the shower temperature control, we experienced shower water that would burn skin with enough exposure. I finally requested maintenance on Saturday night to fix the issue. Housekeeping evidently did not inspect the shower hand control for functionality either.

4. Dirty drinking glasses in cupboards. Unit came with ample new dishes and silverware. Housekeeping apparently forgot to check the cleanliness of our unit's drinking glasses, which needed to be washed by us.

5. Inflexible check out policy (in our situation). Check out policy is 11:00am. We requested an extension to 12:00pm to allow us enough time to eat lunch in the unit. Nope. "Housekeeping said no extensions today", we were told by the front desk. One of our group mistakenly kept his room key after check out time. We entered the unit at 1:00pm out of curiosity (check-in time for new guests was 4:00pm). The unit was cleaned. Would it really have hurt to let us eat lunch in our unit one more hour? Since when does housekeeping dictate the terms of customer service over the front desk concierge?

HIGHS:
1. Great location within the resort. Closest to the base area compared to Caribou Highlands. Spectacular views of Moose Mountain and Lake Superior from our unit.

2. Layout and finishes were well appointed. Read the other reviewer comments or Eagle Ridge website to learn more. I assume Trip Advisor readers are more interested in the "Lows" about a luxury rental.

3. Weather. We got lucky and hit perfect weather for cold blustery NE Minn. Mid-30's and sunny both days with little wind. If Lutsen had consistent weather like that it could rival a Rocky Mountain destination ski area.

If Eagle Ridge operators are reading: overall nice units and location but lousy housekeeping given the price. We've stayed at Motel 6's and Econolodge's for 1/5 the price with more detailed consistent housekeeping standards.

We arrived on friday. Once situated in our room got a call to say we had the wrong room. Then on saturday night we had no running water when i went to go take a shower. For a luxury resort it was a big dissapointment !! Other than that the sking was great!

We stay at Eagle Ridge every time we go to Lutsen, which is twice a winter. Every time it has been very clean and the staff has been great. It is right on the mountain, so you walk out the door and are ready to hit the slopes. The other bonus is it is within walking distance to Papa Charlies. We love this resort and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The convenience and proximity to everything makes a great choice! The only downfall is the chlorine in the hot tub is brutal. Bring a towel as your eyes water quite a bit. Overall, I give Eagle Ridge an A+ :-)

The hotel was secluded on a quiet road with a lovely view of the mountains and golf course. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The room was a bit on the small size but it had a queen size bed which was heavenly to sleep on. After a busy day of hiking, we enjoyed cocktails while sitting on rocking chairs on the wonderful wrap around porch. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

We recently went back to Eagle Ridge and stayed in the new building. Although all rooms are nice, the new lodge is a big upgrade from the older buildings. Huge bathroom with marble walk-in shower, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, comfy beds, murphy bed, flat screen tv, etc. Although the price of the one bedroom in the new lodge is the same price as a two bedroom in an old lodge, we thought it was worth it. We also had a much better view of Lake Superior from this location.

The reservation building is also new and very nice. The front desk staff was much more cordial and informative this time around.

We have stayed at Eagle Ridge for 5 nights every summer for the past several years. Every night the maintence crew comes and does a pool check at 9:45 and then comes back at 10:00 pm to politely kick you out of the pool. We have never experienced anything other than this. I usually wish that they'd let us stay longer, but they are very kind, and we respect the fact that they are just doing their job.

We were unable to get the Wi-fi working in our room, however it did work on the deck.

As to the noise, building D is a bit noiser than others only because you have families walking to the pool area outside your door. We have stayed in building D a couple of times and actually prefer this building - except for the new lodge. The extra noise that we have experienced was very minimal.
