“I didn't want to leave!”

My husband and two other couples stayed at Anna V's this past weekend and had an amazing time. Anna V's hosts, Steve and Susie, couldn't have been more accomodating or hospitable. Their attention to every detail is incredible, surprising us all weekend with various treats - warm, just-baked cookies, a yummy rhubarb pie in the evening, a going-home treat bag, morning paper under our door with the day's breakfast menu, weather forecast and personal note, and coffee/tea placed outside our bedrooms an hour before breakfast. This beautiful Victorian house welcomes you the minute you walk onto the wonderful porch with a welcome note on a blackboard. When we reached our rooms there was yet another personal note of welcome. The breakfasts were delicious, table was gorgeous, and presentation of food lovely. The food was all from local farms/growers. The room accomodations were beautiful and comfortable, and Lanesboro is a quaint little town. It was hard to face reality again after being treated so royally (ok, spoiled) for the weekend. We can't wait to return!

This is a warm, welcoming, comfortable place to stay close to downtown. The hosts offer some of the best attention to detail, availability, and service that we have ever experienced at a B&B. We felt very at ease and comfortable. The lovely victorian is in its beautiful original condition.

We recently made our first trip to Lanesboro in Southern Minnesota. We had heard this picturesque town in was "The Bed and Breakfast Capital" and we were certainly not disappointed. Our choice of lodging, Anna V's Bed and Breakfast had all you could ask for! In addition to the quality of the beautifully restored and tastefully decorated Victorian House, our innkeepers Steve and Susie had thought of even the smallest details to make our stay pleasant. Upon arrival we were greeted with cookies and lemonade and given a tour. We were told to enjoy the great sitting areas on the balcony and front porch. Our room was well stocked with all the "essentials:" soothing music, wine glasses and bottle opener, plush robes and even scented soap made specially for the room by a local shop. The breakfasts, made from local foods were multi-course, delicious and exquisite in presentation. Lanesboro and the neighboring towns are all very tourist oriented and have many interesting attractions along with a biking/walking trail which connects along the beautiful Root River. We will definitely be back and next time perhaps we'll try a little trout fishing as well!

Having stayed at many bread and breakfasts around the country, I will say that none have compared with Anna V's. From the minute you park your car in front of this beautiful home, you feel like you can leave your keys in the car and not worry about anything. Susie and Steve will make you feel at home the minute you step through the front door, and the chocolate chip cookies that are waiting upon check-in are to die for. This is the first B & B that we have stayed at that we have actually noticed how well it is taken care of. From the paintings on the wall to the morning print-out that shows everything from the weather to the menu that morning, they really pay attention to the details. It really made our stay that much better knowing that our hosts actually took the time to get to know us. The food was amazing, and any dietary needs are well accommodated. The menu changes each morning, and every dish is as much a visual masterpiece as it is a savory experience. If I was asked to change one thing about Anna V's, I would change how far away it is from me. Thanks to Susie and Steve, my wife and I plan to make Anna V's an annual trip.

We had a wonderful stay with Steve and Susie at Anna V's B&B. Enjoyed the delicious homemade breakfasts (fresh fruit, muffins and a variety of hot dishes), freshly baked cookies in the afternoons and evening desserts. Appreciated the effort which went into the little things which made all the difference - small chalkboard in flower pot at the front of the house welcoming guests by name; morning newsletter with a weather report, breakfast menu and thought of the day; supply of tea and coffee, bottled water, homemade lemonade and cookies throughout the day; locally produced bathroom products; welcome card; chocolates; goodie bag at the end of our stay and so much more! Rooms were lovely, fitted out with beautiful furniture and lots of cute antiques. Hosts Steve and Susie were superb - extremely welcoming and helpful guides to the area. Highly recommended.

Steve and Susie are very welcoming. The little touches were great. Tea and cookies when you arrive. Yummy muffins and a breakfast made with local ingredients. Our stay was very relaxing. We will be back this summer!

From the moment we drove down in to this quaint little town of Lanesboro to pulling up to the curb of Anna V's B&B, we were mesmerized. Walking in was like going back to the early 1900's. Everything was so clean and decorated so beautifully. Steve and Susie were such gracious hosts and made sure we were very comfortable, gave wonderful suggestions of what to visit and where to eat. Their breakfasts were so delicious that we would have stayed for dinner had it been offered! Our room was very cozy & romantic. What a nice touch to enjoy homemade cookies and hot apple cider in the gentlemens quarters mid day. The shops and restaurants in Lanesboro were within walking distance and we enjoyed the bike trails of the Root River. In the evening we enjoyed sitting out on the 2nd level balcony wrapped in blankets taking in the crisp autumn and star-filled skies. To our surprise, along came a horse-drawn buggy down the street - it was magical! On our way out, Susie and Steve took a picture of us in front of their B&B and emailed it to us as a way to remember a truly wonderful time. We have been to many B&B's, but never have we been made to feel so welcome as we have at Anna-V's. We will make a return trip to Anna-V's in the summer to enjoy all the other things this lovely little town has to offer! Anna-V's is a must if you go to Lanesboro!
