“Fabulous stay, relaxing weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

We had a wonderful stay at Anna V's in early April. Unfortunately the weather was less than ideal, and the town still very quiet so not much to see or do, but we took that as an excuse to spend more time relaxing at the guest house. Our room had a two-person whirlpool tub (Anna's Suite) and it was wonderful. Breakfasts were delicious and had great diversity of choices. There was even a lovely drink selection for guests to grab throughout the day which we really appreciated (hot cocoa after a cold walk). The restaurants close much earlier in town that we anticipated so keep that in mind but otherwise a lovely weekend!

Friends,

You will not go wrong in visiting Anna V's - what a top of the line bed & breakfast! Delightful property with terrific rooms. We stayed in "Anna's Suite" and had an absolutely wonderful time. Suzie and Steve were terrific and gracious hosts. Their recommendations were all spot-on as far as where to go and what to do. We started things off by seeing the Sunday matinee at the Commonweal Theater downtown Lanesboro - Ibsen's "The Doll House" - first rate! And a very charming theater. The dinner next door at "Intermission's" is fine dining, and terrific. Everything in Lanesboro is walking distance from Anna V's. The breakfasts that Suzie and Steve prepared were superb, the conversations wonderful, and adherence to detail second to none. We stayed at the tail end of winter, so there were a few businesses and restaurants closed on weekdays, but there was still plenty to do as far as shopping, browsing, and eating. Pedal Pushers has a great classic American menu with lots of variety and terrific service. Be sure to get an ice cream cone from their terrific selections on your way back to Anna V's (the coconut chocolate is especially good!). The local museum is superb: be sure to stop there and spend at least a half hour. We ventured into Winona one afternoon (about 40 minutes drive), and had one of the top 5 fine dining restaurant experiences ever at "Signatures." It is well worth the drive, and to be sure, another charming city in SE Minnesota. We give 5-stars to Anna V's. Their overall rating of "Excellent" is no accident.

Room Tip: Anna's Suite - the best of the rooms.

This was our first visit to a B&B. We left feeling refreshed and satisfied! The rooms were comfortable and the hosts Susie and Steve were so warm and welcoming! The breakfast was amazing and was finished with chocolate ice cream!!! French toast, egg bake, homemade cinnamon scones. We already booked a return trip for summer!

Room Tip: Heritage suite was warm and the bed was very comfy!

My husband booked us a two-night get-away at Anna's for my birthday. Though we're not normally drawn to the Victorian style B&B, after reading several favorable reviews online, my husband chose Anna's. Rooms were cute, though small, with amenities like whirlpools and flameless candles, but all the little extras are what makes this one of the best stays in the MN/WI region. We were greeted with cookies and iced tea. The owners were always pleasant and chatty. The breakfasts were divine, and Suzie even went out of her way to make a special breakfast for me, complete with singing and a candle. Lovely porches to sit on in the morning to have your coffee. We were given a goodie basket upon leaving, and Suzie took a photo of us and emailed it to us to remember our stay. Plus, Lanesboro is iconic America--cute, quiet small town with lots of great local offerings like the Root River for canoeing, tubing, or kayaking, and the Commonweal Theatre for class-act plays!

Anna V's Bed & Breakfast about the owners, Steve & Suzie were a great help to us from the time we first inquired until our stay was complete. They helped us with our outings we had planned along with discounts available for those. Our breakfast was great and they cooked different entrees for peoples likes or foods some had to avoid. The Anna V's home is beautiful and the rooms we had were decorated very lovely, just right. We would definetly stay at Anna V's again! Highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone wanting to stay in the Lanesboro area.

We had a delightful stay at Anna V's. Susie's hospitality and breakfasts were exceptional! She gave great tips on anything we wanted to do. The bike trails along the Root River were scenic and easy going. What a great get-away!

We had a wonderful stay at Anna V's! The hosts Susie and Steve were engaging and made you feel at home without being intrusive. The house was immaculate and well decorated with great attention to detail. The sitting room was very comfortable and inviting and a great place to sit and have great conversation. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Susie catered to our differing tastes when planning the breakfast menu and it was delicious! We would definitely go back and recommend it to our friends!
