We saw To Kill a Mockingbird and we enjoyed the play and the cast immensely. We have seen about 4 plays there and we enjoyed each performance. For a small town they draw in a lot of talent. If visiting Lanesboro a visit to the Comonweal is a must.

We have attended performances at the Commonweal for about 8 years, usually one play a year. This year we have attended 3 plays -- in May we saw Enemy of the People; this week we saw To Kill a Mockingbird, and Little Shop of Horrors. All productions have been very professional and very entertaining. I am amazed at the depth of talent within this theatre company. Little Shop is the first musical production we've seen here...great voices as well as acting.

The small theater with a thrust stage provides a sense of intimacy with the audience that enhances the experience. The lobby contains an eclectic collection of objects which are whimsical and entertaining. The cast often meets with the audience after the play in the Encore room.

We are considering season tickets for 2012 even though Lanesboro is 2 hours from our home. There are many B&B's and motels in the area, plus Sunday matinees make this a viable option for us.

We've been to Lanesboro before but never to the theatre. It was well worth the time, as the production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" was expertly done, by professional actors. Well worth the ticket cost and I would recommend it to anyone.

It has been several years since we saw a production at the Commonweal Theater and we weren't disappointed this time. "Little Shop of Horrors" is a delightful, energetic play with lots of 60s style music. The intimate theater with seating on three sides of the stage brings the action right into the audience. Intermission in their lounge area was just bright and airy and the 8 ounce mini soda's hit the spot.

Their production of "The Little Shop of Horrors" was worth our driving out of the way to see. If you're going to be in Lanesboro MN you really should see whatever play they are presenting.
