“Awesome!”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

The bike trails along the Root river are absolutely fabulous! Even my husband enjoyed them and he's not a big bicycle rider! The trails are paved so that makes for easier biking. Pretty scenery and friendly bikers along the way. Just a really fun place to ride bikes!

“One of the best trail rides, ever”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

The ride from Lanesboro to Harmony was just lovely. The weather was perfect, even with 30 miles in the rain. The river was full and really running and it was great meandering along the trail and through the small little towns. The trail is in good shape and they have marked spots to be repaired, but nothing major. You will see eagles, deer, rabbits, grouse and lots of wildlife on your journey. It was also fun stopping along the way to see the local homemade furniture that was just fantastic. Truly lovely ride and I would highly recommend.

“Bicycle Trail”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

The rains held off so that we could ride about 30 miles round trip from Lanesboro. The smoothest part of the trail's surface is from Lanesboro to Whalan but still in good shape to Peterson. A pretty ride. The river was moving too fast after many spring rains for canoeing and tubing -- maybe another time.

“Mountain biking the root river”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

We picked Lanesboro because this town is so adorable and easy to get around. Twenty years ago we biked this and now we had a chance to return see how things have changed. The paved trail is well maintained and clearly marked. Fountain is a bit higher terrain and a bit of work to get up the hill, but it is all downhill from there. Lanesboro has everything a Northern European would want in a town. We made it to Whalen and they do have some of the best pie in the world. We biked to Peterson and back and it is a bit of a haul. The people we met were very kind and they take great pride in their small town. I just wished the Bratwurst store was still there but he does have online mustard for sale I hear. If you get a chance, the old school in Lanesboro is now an apartment complex, but you can still get some great views.

“Nice, flat trails!”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Loved the nice, flat trails in the area! We actually biked and kayaked. Unfortunately had a lot of rain, but kept plugging away and are glad we did! Would definitely come back. Gorgeous area and beautiful ride.
