Dad, Mum and 2 kids in our van - we were allowed to pick our own site on arrival. Site was large and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the park with nice trees and facilities. It is a 5 minute walk to the river for fishing (we caught Carp with corn kernels) and a daily paddle steamer cruise. The camp kitchen had sink, toaster, kettle and TV. On some nights a slow cooked dinner with storytelling is available. The park is a short distance out of town. We would definitely stay here again..and again.

What a great place to stay, we had planned on staying in town but no one answered the door so we are very happy that we got to stay at kidmans camp. Great sites, great amenities and great camp kitchen!

After checking out several accommodation options in Bourke we went to Kidmans Camp as a last resort. What a surprise! Although further out of town, the cabins in the caravan park were well worth the extra few minutes drive. Fairly new, everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The cabin was clean, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. It had a real 'log cabin' feel inside which might not appeal to everyone but compared to other options in Bourke this was a standout. The staff were friendly and there was no traffic noise. In our opinion, the best accommodation option in Bourke.

We stayed here for two nights in a powered site that you pick yourself. Your choice of where and the park is very pretty with lots of trees and plants everywhere. The amenities block is huge clean and well maintained So we made our choice and settled in. On the second night ( Sunday ) there was a "Poetry on a plate" evening we booked in for poetry food and entertainment all was terrific. Lots of fellow campers etc turned up we placed our chairs around a few camp fires and the evening was a great success. Lots to see and do in Bourke just to mention two the paddle boat ride and the outback show. The bloke who does this show works really hard and it's a good fun time

After spending 2 nights on the Darling River in our van at Trilby Station we decided to book a cabin here. It's an oasis on the highway out of town. Although it is right on the highway and the cabins front the highway surprisingly it was pretty quiet. It's a very busy place with vans pulling in off the highway from around 3pm and the place is packed and that's for a reason, it's one of the best parks we have stayed at.

We wanted to take the 'Jandra' ferry on the Darling River but didn't have any cash on us and the 'captain' was so rude as he didn't take credit cards even though we were told at Reception that credit card payment would be OK. So we sat on the large veranda of the cabin with a glass or two of Riesling overlooking the beautiful gardens and watching all the birds coming into the garden. There's plenty of green gassy areas and the cabins and gardens are an absolute credit to the owners.

The cabin was spotless and the attention to detail was incredible, and only $135 per night. The bed was large and very comfortable and the kitchen was self-contained and had everything you needed. The shower was great with piping hot water. Highly Recommend.

Thank you for your great review of our park! We try our best to make it “an oasis” on the edge of the Outback.
Our apologies for providing misinformation regarding payment for the PV Jandra, and that you did not have a good experience. We endeavor to properly advise our guests on all aspects of Bourke tourism and the town. While we do act as a reception for the Jandra, it is not actually part of our operation. For future reference, credit card payment for the Jandra is only accepted at the Back ‘O Bourke Exhibition Centre.

My husband, son & I stayed on an unpowered site in April 2013 & were charged $50 which we felt was a bit expensive considering we weren't using power. Staff were quite friendly & amenities were clean. Lovely pool area. Was quite noisy as they are on a highway with roadtrains driving past us all night. The timber cabins looked great from the outside. Couldn't get down to the river as the gates were closed. Would possibly stay here again if I ever went back to Bourke.

Thank you for taking the time to review our park. We are glad you enjoyed the grounds.
Our current (then and now) price for an unpowered site for 3 people is $40 per night. If you were charged $50, this was in error.
