Owner description: Indian Island Winery is a farm winery with grapes grown in our own vineyard and other local growers. Indian Island Winery is a family operated business owned by Ray and Lisa Winter in partnership with son Tom, daughter Angie, and daughter-in-law Angela. We produce award winning wines that are 100% Minnesota Grown. Our winery was built on a site once used by Native Americans as a summer hunting camp. Teeming with wildlife, the land once was nearly 100% surrounded by water. Throughout past years, many artifacts have been found keeping us intrigued by the history of these grounds. Come, join us and experience what Indian Island Winery has to offer you.

6 of us ladies did a wine tasting, most choosing the same wines to sample. One thing we didn't like was you get 5 tastings but the winery already chose 2 of their wines and you picked 3 others. The one wine, Marquette, the owner said a lot of people don't care for it as it tastes too "oaky" so offers a sample of a similar wine. If people don't like it, then why pre-select that as a choice? Otherwise the samples were very good and the owner extremely friendly, she wanted to join us for our "girls weekend getaway"

This family enterprise is a gift and a surprise. The Winter clan has created a welcoming place to meet friends and learn about the wonderful wine made from their vineyards. Their pleasure and enthusiasm makes it a perfect place to spend an evening.

We have been here a number of times and always have fun
For $5 you can sample 5 different wines and you even get to keep the glass!
On certain days they have live entertainment outdoors on the patio.
They also have a limited food menu (good pizza) and beer for you non wine drinkers
Staff is friendly, wine is super, and the grounds and building are very well maintained and clean. It is a family owned business. Highly recommend this place!

Wine tasting was good . Staff helpful with selections. Didn't get out to the Vineyard but will do that when we get there another time. Music outside was not to our liking and way too warm to sit out there.
We ordered 2 different pizzas and they were both good. Didn't care for the cheese bread. Wish they would offer a tasting of their ice wine. We will visit again

Thank you for the nice review, and I am sorry about the Ice wine! It is actually available to taste for a $2 fee, but obviously our staff must not have let you know that, so I am very sorry about that!

Went for dinner and wine tasting. There was live music on Friday night an seats on deck outside. The tasting was 6 wines of which they chose 2 and you could pick the other 4. I enjoyed. We got the wine glass to take home. The meal is minimal but I got an Elk burger. Basic food, music, some drink. Good inexpensive place to sit with family and friends for a couple of hours.
