Second time we have visited for a Sunday roast and it was as delicious as the first time! Lovely young lad who served us and food was really nice. Could do with a few vegetarian options and a few more or different dessert options. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.

This popular gastro pub deserves its reputation for good food.
I had a lovely crab dish and my husband chose the pie. Both were beautifully cooked and the service was great.
We would make a return visit next time we are in the area.

Called in at the Vernon Arms for lunch on a round trip cycle ride from Trunch. Lovely atmosphere and bar area - obviously popular with locals and visitors. We had a couple of pints of local ale, two hot baguettes and a side of chips. As my other half had developed a puncture the owners went out of their way to assist us on quite a busy lunchtime, would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We visit North Norfolk once a year and always pre-book Sunday lunch at the Vernon Arms. This year we went back for a 2nd mid week lunch too. It’s a lovely proper country pub with a good mix of locals and visitors all given a warm welcome. It’s extremely dog friendly with an area to take your furry friends inside as well as the front or back beer garden. Food wise it’s 2nd to none. This time I had the roast pork and it did not disappoint. Proper pork with crackling that’s actually tasted of pork with a generous portion of crispy home made roast potatoes and a selection of veg with loads of flavour and a bit of bite. Nearly as good as my Mums Sunday roast and just as generous portion wise. OH had Scampi with homemade chips which he said was delicious. For our midweek lunch we went for the home made pies, Beef and Ale and Chicken Leek and Bacon respectively. Huge portions , really tasty and fresh and all served with either homemade chips and mushy peas or new potatoes and veg. We rolled out of there. Needless to say, we’ll book again for next year.

We were recommended this place by the B&B we were staying at nearby and it was worth it. You definitely need to book in advance as they get busy. Food was really nice, but the young staff who were serving, one who had just done his GCSE's should get extra credit as they were just wonderful and attentive. Great little pub in a lovely little village!
