After a hiatus of forty years, we had a chance to visit an old haunt to catch up and remember. It still had much of its old appeal and unpretentious lodge appearance. We missed the wonderful live entertainment and old time shows, but the menu and bar were familiar. We enjoyed again their famed BBQ ribs and old fashioned broasted chicken. We were delighted by the simple pleasure of the cut glass relish tray, basket of toasts and friendly staff. It's a step back to a simpler time and straightforward American comfort food. You'll get enough to eat at a reasonable price and will be well served. Do not expect to be swept away by gourmet offerings, decor or river valley views, and you will not be disappointed.
