Owner description: Minnesota's tallest waterfall at 120 feet.

The high falls on the Pigeon River is the tallest waterfall in Minnesota. The trail to the falls from the parking lot at the visitor center is about 1/2 mile of paved trail and boardwalk through the boreal forest to the falls. The views are great.

You are driving that far to the Minnesota/Ontario border, you gotta visit this historic site. Yes, I learned using the work ‘historical/historic’ before everything like all the American . The truly a place to visit with family and friends. Indian’s ingenious way of doing business and travel is quite nicely portrayed there. Different seasons has different look. We went there in Aug and surrounding areas was so green and eye-soothing. Just bring water and summer jacket.

This is a must stop on the North Shore tour. We moved to Minnesota seven years ago and I am surprised how many people have not been to Grand Portage State Park. Many have come up the North Shore, but they still don't make it all the way to Grand Portage and the Canadian border. This was our second visit and it has become one of our favorite state parks. The main boardwalk trail to the High Falls is fun and easy to follow. It is only a 1/2 mile to the falls. The Visitor Center and Gift Shop are a plus.

Short trip to and from the falls on an very nice trail. Mostly paved for easy walking. A few stairs had to be used to get to platforms to get a good view, but well worth it.
