Owner description: Minnesota's tallest waterfall at 120 feet.

This is a must stop on the North Shore tour. We moved to Minnesota seven years ago and I am surprised how many people have not been to Grand Portage State Park. Many have come up the North Shore, but they still don't make it all the way to Grand Portage and the Canadian border. This was our second visit and it has become one of our favorite state parks. The main boardwalk trail to the High Falls is fun and easy to follow. It is only a 1/2 mile to the falls. The Visitor Center and Gift Shop are a plus.

Short trip to and from the falls on an very nice trail. Mostly paved for easy walking. A few stairs had to be used to get to platforms to get a good view, but well worth it.

Easy, paved walk to the highest waterfall in MN. Highly suggested activity. Great photo opportunity as well!

You can walk the half mile or so to High Falls on a mostly paved well-marked trail, with a few stairs here and there. The trail does ascend on the way there...but, it's gentle and there were families with kids doing the hike easily. There are several photo opportunities along the way, and also at the top of the trail. It's a lovely water fall and surrounding forest. There are bathroom facilities, a travel center, and picnic areas at the beginning of the trail, too.

The trail was nice but a little slippery from the rain. Was really shocked that the high falls is not marked better on the road or in the park. More signage would be helpful. We thought this was the highest falls but once you get up to it a sign says has not been measured so false advertising? Nice to stretch legs but informative area closes at five so if want more information go early.
