I've eaten at Doolittles many times, and the food is always good but never great. We eat here because it is convenient and a step above Applebys. You can always count on the calamari, walleye and french dip sandwich to be good. Last night on the recommendation of the waiter I chose the pork chop which turned out to be extremely salty. I think I would have had a better meal had I chosen the hangar steak. Instead of my normal glass of cabernet I opted for the Gingers Martini and was very disappointed, there was absolutely no taste, other than alcohol. I expected to taste ginger. Another criticism is that when we eat here we feel rushed, sometimes it doesn't matter but other times you want to sit back and enjoy the wine and covnersation. They do have a really nice selection of wine by the bottle. But they like many other restaurants serve their red wine too warm. I don't want chilled wine but I'd prefer it wasn't served at 72 degrees but closer to cellar temp of 55 to 60 degrees. We will go back because it is close but I'm not ordering the pork chop again.
