We sat at a high-top table looking out to the town. The Chocolate Moose had a lot to offer on the menu. I decided on the Reuben...It was the best! It was raining outside, but there were still plenty of customers, and a lot of locals. I wish I could go back again.

Been here twice in a month. Both times really rude, terse, dissuading hostesses and fabulous wait staff, good food, decent beer selection.

I was here in the 80's and 90's and the original owners had way better chefs, special of the day that never repeated in a season, and nicer service. Now, the food is still really good even though not as good as the old chefs, but quite good and unique, and the beer is better.

It just takes a while to get over your bad mood over the crabby hostesses who do NOT want to help you. If you ask for a patio seat they will say no. Just walk right past them (they will try and stop you) and check the back patio and you'll find 3 open tables. Point them out and they'll seat you, after a sigh and a... Like... 17 yr old eye-roll. Everything will be fine after that. If not try another beer.

If all else fails, check out the Boat House up the street, it's ely's first microbrew!

The food was good for a burger type joint. The service was great. The berry pie filling was yummy, but the pastry was a little bland.

We ate here twice during a recent visit to Ely. The food, service and desserts were all great. In our group we had burgers, fish, and meatloaf and everyone went away happy. Would recommend the walleye and any of the fruit pies for dessert.

Had good memories of eating there a few years ago, and had to go back this visit to Ely. It exceeded my fond memories. There were 6 of us, and everyone said their food was excellent. Best mushroom swiss burger I've ever had, and the mixed berry pie was perfect. Didn't get the huge nacho appetizer this time. Last time it was so good (and so huge) we were stuffed before dinner came :-). Nice decor and friendly staff. Wish we lived close enough to eat there often.
