“Wonderful Wilderness Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

We bought the 6 hour day trip through a groupon. We had always wanted to give this a try, and now that we are retired, it was time. Yes, people over 60 CAN do this! There were only two sleds led by Page. All 4 of his people were over 60! We were given great instructions on how to manage the sled. My husband and I traded places during the day. As a rider, you are bundled up iin a zippered sleeve on the sled...inside a sleeping bag. So there was no chance of getting cold. As we got more confident, Page gave us options of where we wanted to travel...what kind of terrain did we want?

We had a lunch cooked over a campfire on Dragon Lake...very cool! I discovered a new way to cook over a fire in the winter!

Toward the end, we came across a deep stream that was not frozen over. Page got us all across, then brought our sleds over. It was a great show! One of our dogs was having a lot of difficulty at the end, so rode with me in the sled...another highlight! Page was a great problem solver. We definitely want to try this again...maybe the overnight trip?

“Epic Family Vacation!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

We have a family of 7, parents with 5 children ranging in age from 4-18. This was the first family trip we have ever taken where everyone had a great time, all of the time, including mom & dad. We had a customized trip due to all the kids and varying age ranges. We spent an overnight in the yurt and also had a day trip into the BWCA with ice fishing and ice skating (now who can honestly say that they have gone ice skating in the BWCA? - not many people I am sure). The meals were great, the guides were wonderful and entertaining! We cannot wait to do it again! We all (except the 4 year olds) drove (mushed?) our own sleds. Beauty everywhere, incredible dogs, can't say enough about our time! Thanks Peter!

Fantastic organization! My husband and I have taken the Premier Yurt Trip 3 times had a fantastic time each trip. The dogs are amazing and the BWCA is wilderness at it's best. The experience is very empowering and enriching. Theo our guide is exceptional. We are looking forward to our next trip in February 2013.

“Hardy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2012

Can't recommend this trip enough. If you are looking for an adventure that gets better in the telling the more you talk about it, this is the trip for you. Camping out on the frozen lakes for 5 days learning how to adapt to the cold environment while enjoying the beauty of the boundary waters is just the beginning. The real thrill was learning how to handle a team of dogs and sled, developing a strong appreciation for that kind of lifestyle, meeting others with the same interests, eating the most delicious and healthy food prepared by Peter, sitting around the campsite under a winter sky and participating in all forms of camplife. We couldn't have asked for better guides; Theo who was consistently energetic, humorous and fantastic chef and Sean who we had total confidence in getting us safely thru the trip. To his credit he won the 280 mile Hudson Bay Quest the next week and Peter took the prize for best cared for dogs. What more could anyone ask of a dog mushing tour company?

“Great White Wilderness Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2012

The perfect winter experience with eager dogs, great guides, good food, miles and miles of snow covered trails in Minnesota's far north wilderness.
Definitely recommended for hands-on outdoor adventurers, first timers as well as experienced mushers, to enjoy.
