“A must see when visiting Ely.”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

I have been to the Dorothy Molter Museum probably 4 or 5 times. Each visit offers a new experience, not to mention you can't beat the delicious Kwitcherbeliakin root beer. This woman was an amazing person and truly loved the area as God created it.

“Historical Exhibit of Cabin Life in Ely”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Dorothy Molter, aka "the root beer lady" was known to make her own brew after coming here from Chicago. The museum and information is interesting and not boring. Makes you wanna drink more root beer afterwards. Easy to find in Ely.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

I loved visiting the Dorothy Molter Cabin and Museum...what an independent woman Dorothy was...such a great role model for us all. It is not everyone who can live their life just how they desired but Dorothy did. My companion has visited the Boundary Waters often and knew the story of Dorothy and knew that I would enjoy the museum. He was right! The women who were working at the museum that day personally knew Dorothy and their stories were so genuine. It was fun to see Dorothy's cabins and I would highly recommend this museum.
