Owner description: The International Wolf Center, located in Ely, Minnesota, gives visitors a chance to learn about wolves and see them in a beautiful northwoods habitat. The main attraction are five live wolves who make up our ambassador pack. The best time to see the wolves is first thing in the morning and then late in the afternoon. This is especially the case during hot summer months. If you can't make it early or late in the day, we recommend coming by at noon. Every day at noon we offer enrichment for the wolves, so they typically all come out and are visible through the massive auditorium windows. We also offer a unique Saturday evening program where the wolves get their weekly meals. That program is at 7 p.m. The Center advances the survival of wolf populations by teaching about wolves, their relationship to wildlands and the human role in their future.

Drove to Ely from Duluth, not knowing if we'd actually see any wolves. Got there around 1pm, and there were 3 wolves laying around outside, taking turns with some kind of carcass. Went to the Wolfology talk and the wolves came and went during the talk. Very informative. Stayed about an hour or so. Nice little gift shop.

My husband is a nut about wolves, and this did not disappoint. It was amazing to watch the wolves in action, and we got so many amazing pictures. We went back on Saturday evening for the feeding and that was educational and exciting! The guy, Chris, who was the educator there both days was knowledgeable, funny, and great with the kids. Check it out if you are in Ely!

Really disappointing!! did not see any wolves- the whole purpose of going there!! heard a talk for 30 minutes on wolves, the guide telling us of the times we could see the wolves which were not when we were there!!! to come bakc int he evening with another ticket at 6.30 pm when it was open for photographers, but all public could go then as wolves come out at night! wish we had known that before!!! so please check the website for tips of when to go so you are not as disappointed as us!

Very great facility and it was worth the admission, but to be honest if you spend more than 30 minutes at the center I would be surprised. I had no problem paying the admission because I know they support very great work.
