Kim and I spent a recent Friday evening at Bear Head State Park (Site 52). We had made reservations and were pleasantly surprised by the location of our site. We had a small well-maintained path across the road from our site that lead directly to the lake and a small dock where we put in the canoe. We fished the coves and bays on Saturday morning with success. The facilities were well maintained and clean, the site was clean and tidy with ample space for our old truck and matching old camper. The park is a great overnight prior to a BWCAW trip or as a closer for a trip, but well worth a visit on its own merits. We will return.
