“We had a really great dining experience here.”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

We hadn't read any reviews, but had walked past it many times and we finally dropped in on a Friday night. Couldn't believe there was no wait, since the parking was full. Then walking to our table, we saw how deceptively huge the place is.
Fantastic experience.
I'm a sucker for great service - not something that happens all that often - and sometimes it comes off artificially trolling for a bigger tip. I thought our waitress was special - professional, attentive, never pushy, helpful, sincere - great job, Cherie! Now, reading the reviews, it sounds like they have set a very high standard throughout their staff. Well done!
The food was very good, starting with the bread with olive oil/parmesan - but just try to leave room.
We both had half orders of the pasta - and ordered salads to go with. My wife had the spinach salad, I had the Messina (similar to a Greek salad). Both were tremendous - and very large - we could have split them. I can't envision how big an entree salad would have been. By the time the pasta came, we were stuffed with great food and had to take some home. Really nice they had the 1/2 order option.

Costs...Drinks were the typically high $5.50 for their house cianti and the same for the pint of Goose Island. Both hit the spot though. The half orders of pasta were $10 each, and the salads ran $6-6.50.
The atmosphere was quite nice - separate room areas make it seem more intimate. And the food came hot and nicely done.
Did I mention the tremendous service? Man, I like that.

This will have to be our new "go to" place, can't wait to let our friends know about it.

“Excellent place to go!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Everything was great here. The service, the food, the atmosphere, just everything. The portions were perfect, and everything was delicious. They were very helpful with any questions we had with the menu, and we left very satisfied. Highly recommend!

“Good food, friendly service”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant and I've gone here for years. Pasta, chicken, fish, salads and soup are all great. It's good for groups at lunch, special occasions or just a night out with the family. It also has a great back room for larger groups and many organizations meet here. It's one of those restaurants that you'll say Biaggi's, that sounds like a good idea.

“Good Service but the Food... Ah, Not So Good”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The best I can say about the food is the there was lots of it. But, large quantity does not make up for very mediocre quality,

“Spiral Downward”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

For the past decade, this restaurant has been a favorite. Not long ago, they began to change, and in my mind, lower their food costs and cheapen their menu. Last November we had our first bad experience, as dishes had changed and lesser quality substitutions occurred. For example, the zucchini and summer squash medley in the Chicken Pietro changed to a tasteless medley of green beans and barely seen red peppers. Moreover, the roasted potatoes that were part of this signature dish were completely removed . . . No starch at all.

Last night we decided to try again since the manager said we could order the Pietro "the old way." Disaster ensued.

The Chicken Pietro came in a weak balsamic soup instead of the Demi-glaze that was the signature of the dish. No potatoes and undercooked beans completed the dish. It was very disappointing. But, it was not a fluke.

The Chicken Marsala came in a watery Marsala sauce that had the consistency of a weak broth. The veal piccata came deep-fried and the taste ruined the lemony piccata sauce. The menu did not mention that the dish would be deep fried. The waiter confirmed that it was indeed deep fried. Moreover, the bitter after taste completely ruined the meal.

The staff apologized, but when I spoke to the manager afterward, I got the distinct impression that nothing would change. Cheaper food substitutions were now the norm and how a kitchen could send out those dishes was a complete puzzle.

We will not return. Avoid.
