These rooms are cheap and large, but still disappointing. Two 2-bedroom floorplans are offered: a loft and 2 bedroom. I needed separate rooms and avoided the loft, but the 2nd bedroom was still a loft open to the living area below.

The furniture and appliances were updated, but the structure is very old and in poor condition. The stairs had water damage to the point of being crowned and warped. The living room is unbelievably cold and drafty in winter. At night, the floor was freezing cold (just in this room) and the room was uninhabitable. We chose this hotel so our 6 month old could sleep in the living room, but that was impossible. I bet this is nice the rest of the year, but unlivable in Winter.

Finally, I do want to complement the staff. They were all excellent throughout the stay. In particular, the two people running the breakfast buffet take pride in their jobs and it shows. The woman running the kitchen kept everything stocked, hot and clean. The gentleman manning the dining room was friendly, attentive and kept it picked up.

Room Tip: Don't get a top floor penthouse in winter. This is an older complex with outdoor entries.

Loved the townhouse-style of this place. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the large studio. It was like being in a one-bedroom apartment, with living area, sofa, kitchen, dining set, fireplace, and all. The place was large and made one feel like being in a home away from home. The only negative was the bathroom, which was so small that one would have trouble shutting the door without rubbing against the toilet bowl! The breakfast buffet was excellent, considering it is an economy hotel. Four hot dishes besides a bunch of continental items. Was only a 10-minute drive from the Mall of America. Overall, excellent experience. Will definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: If you plan on visiting the MOA, ask for a coupon book at the desk. Our room came with that included in the price.

What a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn! For the four of us, me, my wife and two teenage girls. The accommodation was perfect. It is not the most updated or posh hotel we ever stayed in but everything was decent. There is full kitchenette, two bedrooms (one is in the Loft, very cool) and a sofabed. We all have room to stretch, two bath rooms and three TVs. I thought we could not ask for anything better until we have our complimentary breakfast. We were there for five days, the hot items were different everyday and very delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and they even offer to clear the plates. Wonderful service with a smile. Way to go.

Room Tip: Get the loft penthouse suite. For the small difference in price. Your kids will love it and it is "cool".

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was a pleasant surprise to see the rooms really well structured which gave a very homely feeling ( once inside the room ). Included a kitchen, sofa and a really comfortable bed. Pretty good food and extremely helpful and courteous staff.

My wife and I stayed here after shopping at the MOA before Christmas. We got the loft type of room. The extra space is great, the rooms are nice ,and its only a few miles from the mall.
