“Beautiful, try to go on a nice sunny day!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We had to go on a cloudy day, so it was harder to see some of the beautiful scenes, but it was still great! Good tour guide. We don't have kids, but the kids near us seemed a bit bored, so I would suggest bringing something for them to do.

“Nice Tour”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Nice tour of Superior Lake and surrounding harbor of Duluth with a lot of educational information for all ages. Luckily we had a really nice day as far as weather was concerned. Weather permitting, my suggestion is to sit outside. We went to the second deck and walked out to the front of the boat. They had wooden boxes that hold the life preservers that you can sit on. My other suggestion is to bring a small pillow to sit on. It is the best place to view everything they talk about and some great shots of the aerial lift bridge but after a while the boxes get a little hard, especially for an hour and a half cruise. I thought the price of the tour was extremely reasonable but the food on board was a little pricey. Friendly staff and great Captain.

“Really???”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

I rarely complain about any attraction on any trip...but this was disappointing. I would NOT recommend this for kids...my 6 & 8 yr olds were bored out of there minds! 1hr 45 minute ride around the harbor with limited info is too long. It's possible the entire fault lies with our guides. We had 2 crewmen that were probably young college age boys and they were terrible! Very unprofessional; mispronouncing words and names akin to MN all over the place; making jokes that were not at all funny and then berating the "audience" for not laughing; much of their script was being read out of a notebook, that they apparently had trouble reading because they needed to confer on several issues, mid-sentence! It was one of the worst tours I have ever been on. Maybe the dinner cruise is better.

“The place to start.”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Assuming there is visibility, this is the first thing I would do upon arrival. A 1-1/2 hour cruise under the aerial lift bridge, up the shoreline, then back into the harbor. You can sit in the enclosed first deck with the bar, the enclosed 2nd deck or in the weather on the 3rd deck, the bow or stern. They point out the historic buildings of the city and explain the operations of the port...all on a comfortable and relaxing ride. Great for children...our cruise included 40 elementary school children on a field trip and everyone had a good time. I guess they also have a dinner cruise on weekend nights that looks like a good time.

The tour is a good value and a great way to learn a bit more about Duluth. The tour guides are good and make the trip fun!
