My husband and I spent a long weekend at the A.G. Thomson House to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time! The property and grounds are absolutely beautiful! Our room was tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious - my personal favorite was the raspberry and white chocolate scone. We liked that we could choose to eat with the other guests or in our room. Angie and Tim, the Innkeepers, thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, from the freshly baked cookies to the vast selection of books and DVDs available for us to borrow. If you need any advice about what to do or where to eat in the Duluth area, they will give you plenty of good ideas. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful-That's what our first Bed and Breakfast Experience was! My husband and I stayed there to celebrate our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary. We could not have asked for a more splendid stay. Our expectations were high having read all the great reviews, and yet they were exceeded during our stay! Angie and Tim pay close attention to every little detail to make sure that your stay is memorable. The food was great. Our personal favorites were the wild rice quiche and the chocolate chip muffin. We also really loved the chocolate chip cookies that were always at one's disposition on the main level. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. It was the perfect getaway. We highly recommend it!

Room Tip: The Brule River Retreat was a lovely room. The giant whirlpool tub was an added plus. However one of...

My husabnd and I have been to many B&B's, but A.G. Thomson House may be our favorite. The house is decorated beautifully, inside and out. The landscaping and yard is just gorgeous--they have many flowers decorating their porch and yard and it is very nice! Our room was very nice too. It has a sunroom with a couch, chair and TV. We had a great time watching the Olympics and relaxing. The owners are very friendly, and we had a nice time visiting with them. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I would recommend the room with the sunroom--it was very relaxing and quiet.

We stayed at the Thomson House for our anniversary on Aug 3, 2012. We loved it!! The gardens are incredible!!! We took advantage of the lovely gazebo on the grounds to relax before heading out to dinner....wonderful! Tim and Angie were so welcoming and work as a great team to give us excellent service. Our room was the Salyards Suite with a view of the gazebo and Lake Superior! We also enjoyed that we could have our breakfast delivered to our room. We will definitely recommend this B and B to our friends and family!!

We stayed at the Thompson house on July 24th. Regrettably, we were only in town for 1 night! We've stayed in a number of B&Bs, always to be disappointed. Not this time. This is how I always imagined a B&B would be. Welcoming hosts, impeccable furnishings, charm galore and a spectacular breakfast. Angie was very accommodating to my special dietary needs and prepared a delicious breakfast for us, even including for my Sig O a "normal" breakfast-which he very much enjoyed.

We loved our room, the Hewitt Suite, especially the outdoor seating area. We wish we could have stayed longer! Service is excellent as well- I left a pair of shorts at the Inn and when I finally realized they were missing, Angie promptly replied that they had found them and were mailing them to me-without my even having to ask her to do so!

Will certainly stay there again-and for more than just 1 night!

This is our third time at the A.G. Thomson House in Duluth. This is the best B&B we have ever been in. If you in the Twin Cities, this is a great place to spend a cooler weekend, especially in July-August. Angie & Tim have made some great improvements in the decor and do all that they can to make sure that you stay is fabulous. All of the rooms are great, though I prefer to say in the main house. The grounds are full of flowers and the new gazebo is a great place to sit and talk. We also have some specific diet needs and Angie was able to deal with it with no problems. I recommend this place without reservation, though reservations are necessary to get in.

We stayed for two nights during their hottest days earlier this month. The room had a/c which totally kept up with the 99 degree heat.

Innkeepers, Tim & Angie, were wonderful. Very knowledgeable about area sights, restaurants, legends etc. There was nothing these two wouldn't do to accommodate their guests. Their restaurant suggestions were spot on!

The grounds are gorgeous with a gazebo, several areas scattered about with adirondack chairs and love seats . . . lovely gardens.

We plan to send our son & daughter in law as a birthday gift. Cannot say enough nice things about this B&B!

Room Tip: We had the "Ryerson" room/suite which was quiet and spacious having a separate little den...
