“Pasta fit for a Marathoner”

We enjoyed a great pasta dinner here the night before Grandma's Marathon. They had a special menu with pasta dishes for marathoners that included a side salad. The portions were a nice size and filling. Prices ranged from $12-$18 depending upon the dish. The views of the lake were great from almost every table in the restaurant. It was a little tricky to find in the Fitger's complex, we had to ask a couple of people for directions because there were not a lot of signs on where it was located. Overall, a great meal and a great experience.

“very nice restaurant”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

great bar, outdoor seating with wonderful views of the lake and people watching. Food is good, I had walleye one evening and it was delish. the mussels were great too. Tom is a great bartender and the live music duo was a nice touch in the bar.

“Quality classics with a twist & a view”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Had a tasty lunch of the mussels, mushroom flat bread and Falanghina wine - perfect! I was tempted by the Tapas & Wine evening menu as well as a number of other menu items. The little touches made it tasty without overdoing it / too many flavors; for instance the balsamic glaze on the mushroom flatbread brought it together perfectly. And the flatbread was a real flatbread, not just pizza dough. I recommend Midi's!

“Great view and service”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

We enjoy stopping here for wine and appetizers and occasionally for a meal. This visit was spontaneous, in part because our first choice was packed and had a wait (unusual in Duluth). Our waiter was excellent and gave us time to read the wine list and menu before taking our order. He brought our wine and food then gave us time to enjoy them for a bit before checking back. We were both pleased that he didn't ever say "How are your first few bites tasting?" or "Perfect!" or "Are you still working on that?" He contributed to the lovely environment and view without making us feel like we were test subjects or that our meal was some sort of project. My friend said his salmon was very good, expecially the sauce. I ordered a burger which was cooked just as I ordered, with the right amount of topping and the bun (homemade?) was sturdy enough to not get soggy. When we were finished our server took my plate and boxed my leftover food for me to take - very nice not to have to do that at the table myself. The single flaw of the evening was the hostess. When we arrived she just said "Hi" and we said "hi" back then she just looked at us for a while then finally said the word, "Two?" Does the title hostess not imply that she might welcome us with an actual greeting and speak in complete sentences, perhaps ask us a benign, chatty question on the way to the table? All in all, recommended for any meal or evening happy hour.

“Quality Food”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Nothing to dislike at Midi. We had a great dinner with excellent service and a lake view. They also have outdoor dining and a new Tiki bar which just opened on the 2013 Memorial Day weekend. We stayed at Fitger's Inn and received coupons offering nice discounts for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Midi. Coupons or not, this is a good restaurant.
