I've eaten and drank, (to excess) many times at Sir Ben's. Here are my top 3 reasons I'll go back:

#1. The Music- I really like the acoustic nights at Sir Ben's. And most of their electric nights are excellent too.

#2. The Beer selection- What can I say?? They have an excellent selection of interesting beer. Their selection rivals Fitger's Brewhouse- a brewery.

#3. The sandwiches- They aren't "perfect"- but (can be) close! (Only a few sandwich spots in Duluth can come closer!) Depending on the cook that day, the homemade soup's can be excellent too. (Go Mushroom!)

Yes, it has changed over the years. But, what doesn't change over time..? The fact that it still draws a crowd (after all these years) and still has that laid-back atmosphere speaks volumes.....esp when you consider the many "original" restaurant/bars in Duluth that have faltered, been altered to a shadow of themselves OR gone dark.....think about it....

Sir Ben's is on the "endangered list"....... SO, keep up the good works Sir Ben's! Take pride that only a few places in the region have your atmosphere.....

For you tourist's- GO! It's worth the "price of admission".

I love this place. The staff is so friendly, helpful and knowlegable, the food is wonderful (espcially the smoked butternut squash and apple soup after a day of winter hiking!) and the beer and wine list are ample, local (for beer) and very affordable. Wonderful vibe. Eclectic, friendly, fantastic.

It was nice to find a place for just a sandwich and a wide brewery selection of beers. The sandwiches to choose from would please anyone. The staff were knowledgeable about the beers.

We had a couple of sandwiches for lunch and they were very tasty. It is nice to know that they have house-made food. And the desert was fantastic.

This is a great place - indoors and outdoors - to eat, drink, talk, and listen to music. Sandwiches are great, a good variety of pop and beer. I've had soup and vegetarian hummus platter during Lent and went home as full and happy as usual.
