Description: Classic Italian dinning and Wine Spectator award winner since 1999 Bellisio’s restaurant conjures up images of highly skilled chefs, fine wines, superb service, and fresh Italian food. And while all this is most certainly true, one must not forget that Bellisio’s is above all an experience. An exceptional dining experience, to be precise, but one that takes place in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of the quaint eateries and wine bars of the Italian countryside. And no wonder. The experience is fashioned after the small village of Bellisio, Italy, home to the owner’s ancestry. Imported direct from Italy are the beauty, comfort, romance, and glorious recipes. Specialty dishes include perfectly prepared pasta dishes using the finest imported and local ingredients; fennel roasted rack of pork; homemade risotto dishes; grilled steaks; shrimp; seafood; and a fresh catch feature every day. All served with a world class wine menu to match. Bellisio’s has received Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence” every year since we opened in 1999. It’s a simple, colorful, elegant, and exceptional dining experience.

Ate dinner twice, once inside and once outside on the patio. Both times, the food, wines and service were exceptional. Don't waste your time searching for a better place. This is it!

The chicken and asparagus risotto was fabulous. The wine flights are a terrific option. Very enjoyable, but expensive, especially since the salads are a la carte. But most entrees do come with potatoes and vegetable.

Wine is the star at this northern Italian spot. Several hundred bottles on the list, and multiple choices of wine flights- 4 wines to sample. Has won Wine Spectator Award of Excellence many times.
Don't show up without a reservation-it is always packed, even during the week. If you haven't dined there before , ask the server to go through the menu-salads and such are not included with dinner. Salads are large and can be shared with 2 or 3 people.
Our favorites are the seafood items-always nicely done and not overcooked. The pasta items are acceptable, but not our favorite items. Sharing a tiramisu is a divine way to end the meal.
One of Duluth's better restaurants, despite the hoards of tourist who show up in jeans and sweatshirts.

Ate here the weekend of the Northshore Inline weekend. Hostess asked if we had reservations and I said no. It would be a least a 45 minute wait for the dining room and a 30 minute wait in the lounge. We decided to wait. It took about 15 minutes to be seated in the dining room.

Service was very efficient. Food was OK. We had never eaten here so I asked for suggestions. Server recommended a sausage with spaghetti and tomatoes. When I have Italian food, I really like to have a salad. It was not offered or explained that no salad was included. It did not indicate it on the menu either. Had a wine sampler with the meal (that was fun).

Glad we tried it but will not be at the top of my list to return or will try a different entree!

Until recently, Duluth just didn't have another good option for Italian. We've been here for special occasions and this restaurant isn't bad but Va Bene is just better. The staff was friendly and the food is OK but for the price I'd go somewhere else. I think you can get more for your money.
