Description: Classic Italian dinning and Wine Spectator award winner since 1999 Bellisio’s restaurant conjures up images of highly skilled chefs, fine wines, superb service, and fresh Italian food. And while all this is most certainly true, one must not forget that Bellisio’s is above all an experience. An exceptional dining experience, to be precise, but one that takes place in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of the quaint eateries and wine bars of the Italian countryside. And no wonder. The experience is fashioned after the small village of Bellisio, Italy, home to the owner’s ancestry. Imported direct from Italy are the beauty, comfort, romance, and glorious recipes. Specialty dishes include perfectly prepared pasta dishes using the finest imported and local ingredients; fennel roasted rack of pork; homemade risotto dishes; grilled steaks; shrimp; seafood; and a fresh catch feature every day. All served with a world class wine menu to match. Bellisio’s has received Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence” every year since we opened in 1999. It’s a simple, colorful, elegant, and exceptional dining experience.

My wife and I ate here on a trip to Duluth. It is located down near the famous bridge. They have an incredible wine list. They found a very nice wine for each of us. The food was really good. We will go back, if we are in Duluth again. The service was also very good. The seating is fairly close. You can hear other people's conversations, but we had a really nice time.

We were looking for something other than pub food and this place was the cure. We new it would be a little more expensive but the prices are fair for the quality and type of food. I ordered the Walleye Molinese and it was superb. My partner ordered the catch of the day which was salmon and that was also delicious. Their seasonal cocktail menu is fun and fresh. I loved that I could order a wine flight and try different types of wine at a good price. Our servicer was friendly and did a great job. All the staff we interacted with were nice and the atmosphere was pretty relaxed. The bar and patio are first come first serve. It was a beautiful evening so we ate in the patio and didn’t have to wait for a table.

We came here for a birthday meal and were not disappointed! The wait staff was amazing and the food was phenomenal albeit a little expensive but definitely worth going for a special occasion. We both ordered the lobster ravioli and it was out of this world! Their moscato was also excellent. We’re definitely coming back!

A little disappointed this trip. We have always had excellent food at Bellisio's! This time my daughter ordered her all time favorite bolognese but it wasn't very good. The sauce was bland. We told the server and she asked what she could do for us, like order a different meal or get more sauce, but it was too late because we were all finished with our meals. We shared our meals with her. So we took home the leftovers of the bolognese with extra sauce on top. Our other meals, the sausage risotto, fabulous, and the shrimp and asparagus risotto, good but not much flavor. Caesar salad still the bomb! We got LOTS of parmesan :) Gluten free options are plenty!!

My parents eat here every time they visit Duluth and insisted we come with. We had a table of 8 and they had us back by the kitchen area, so it was a bit loud with the clanging of dishes and the occasional dropped dish but we were still able to have nice conversations at normal volume.

The wine menu is a book with many pages. They only brought one to the table. Thankfully only a few of us wanted to look at it since it would have taken an hour just to select a beverage if we all wanted a glass. But the wines we selected were tasty :) just go in knowing what type you’re looking for and that will help narrow it down!

The menu is fairly small but there was nice variety. I had the Bolognase (might be spelling that wrong) with veal, chicken, and pork. I chose gnocchi with it. It was quite good. I did have a bone in it though. It was a soft bone since it crushed pretty small when I bit down. I was able to take a bigger piece out of my mouth, which confirmed it was a bone. The rest I ate since it was the size of sand in my mouth. Did make me a bit hesitant with the rest of my meal though.

For dessert my husband and I each had a truffle. That was delicious and less than $2 each. My brother had the carrot cake, which meant we all had carrot cake! It’s a massive amount of cake. They brought half of it home even after we all had some.

Overall, it was a tasty dinner and a nice atmosphere. We never felt rushed to leave and our waiter was wonderful. Our water glasses were never under half full because he was so attentive. We probably won’t return due to the price ($91 for my husband and I) but my parents definitely will and we’ll recommend it to others.
