Description: Classic Italian dinning and Wine Spectator award winner since 1999 Bellisio’s restaurant conjures up images of highly skilled chefs, fine wines, superb service, and fresh Italian food. And while all this is most certainly true, one must not forget that Bellisio’s is above all an experience. An exceptional dining experience, to be precise, but one that takes place in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of the quaint eateries and wine bars of the Italian countryside. And no wonder. The experience is fashioned after the small village of Bellisio, Italy, home to the owner’s ancestry. Imported direct from Italy are the beauty, comfort, romance, and glorious recipes. Specialty dishes include perfectly prepared pasta dishes using the finest imported and local ingredients; fennel roasted rack of pork; homemade risotto dishes; grilled steaks; shrimp; seafood; and a fresh catch feature every day. All served with a world class wine menu to match. Bellisio’s has received Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence” every year since we opened in 1999. It’s a simple, colorful, elegant, and exceptional dining experience.

Bellisio's is a lovely property that serves consistently good, but not great Italian food. It is fairly pricey, but the servings are very large. I especially love the Cesar salad. I think their dressing is great. The desserts are also really lovely. Walleye was good and the portion was very generous.

The meal was nicely done. I had gnocchi with spinach, etc. The gnocchi were perfectly soft pillows bathed in creamy spinach sauce. My wife has Sausage risotto that was an excellent balace of spicy sausage and the sweeter cream sauce. The best buy were the wine flights which feature 4 good wines at a reasonable price. A definite must for a relaxing evening of quality food.

Great meal and excellent service. I would highly recommend this place. We arrived just before they were ready to open with not reservations. We were told it would by 1/2 hour and less then five minutes we were seated.

The menu available in our hotel was awesome! Homemade Italian food just across the way! It sounded so delicious on paper. And then we went there.... we were excited that the appearance of the restaurant appeared as good as the menu. And then ... it slowly went downhill. The food was mediocre. The server/waitress was not really interested in making our dining experience a memorable one. She was more interested in tossing our selections on the table and scurrying off somewhere. For a place that advertises themselves as a "wine bar" ... the server lacked knowledge of the wine list and had to leave the floor before she could answer my query ... and then she said she had no idea and left without making alternate suggestions ... we had to call her back! We paid for $31 for lobster ravioli and grilled shrimp. I could have grilled the shrimp on my home bbq and it would have been better. The ravioli was swimming in way too much sauce that drowned the pasta. There were no vegetables with the meal and we were not offered options or told that the meals were veggie free unless we ordered (and paid for) extra items. A BIG disappointment.

Duluth is a beautiful city with Lake Superior as far as you can see. Canal Park has a fun atmosphere, good shopping, and a variety of places to eat. Bellisio's wine bar is amazing. The selection is the best that I have seen in a long time. The food was so fresh, and the service was great. The wait staff knew the menu, and specials. I liked the outdoor dining.
