We heard from a friend that this was an interesting place with good food and he was right! The only beer we sampled was their root beer and it was good! I had a smoked turkey reuben that came with cranberry sauce--all 1 tablespoon of it! I did like the fact that the bread was a multi-grain wheat bread and very good. Had the choice of a side and I chose the salad. It was on the plate and I honestly thought it was the garnish for the sandwich as the portion size was small. The maple dressing was great though. My husband had a Cowboy hamburger and fries. The hamburger was very good and also on a multi-grain bun. It was piled with onion straws and a special sauce that was different than any bar-b-que sauce we had ever had. Wish more places would have multi-grain bread choices available for sandwiches. There were a number of salads and other sandwiches. Not a steak and baked potato place. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Nice little shops in the area of the restaurant. Would return.

We stopped here on our way home from a weekend on the north shore. We had never been hear but liked what we read. It lived up to what everyone had written. It was a casual atmosphere, the food was good and the service was very personable.

It's a brewpub, firstoff. Don't expect a bunch of salads and healty alternatives (although they do have some nice vegetarian options). I had a Beau Burger and some delicious Breakwater Wit (in house brewed beer, excellent). Some live music was nice later in the night.....not too loud, just right! Friendly service as well

We parked in the garage, which requires a bit of a walk through the building to get to the restaurant. We were on the lower level, and in looking for the restaurant we ended up in a basement bar in the building; not very nice and the bathroom was worse. Things got better as we headed down the hall. Nice shops, some fun historical information and photos on the walls, and finally the restaurant. The place was crowded, so we had to wait about 40 minutes. The food was quite good. We had vegetarian sandwiches (I think one was Portobello mushroom), and I had a pale beer which was quite good. The atmosphere was eclectic, casual, and friendly. Not a bad place to eat in Duluth.

We came out of a week long trip to the Boundary Waters looking for a burger and a beer. A quick look at Trip Advisor for help led us to Fitgers. Excellent choice of beer; the Irish Stout was exceptional. The guys ordered the Highland beef burger and I had the wild rice veggie burger pub style (nushrooms, grilled onions and chipotle mayo). Hubby said it was the best burger he's ever eaten, but admitted the past 7 days of dehydrated food may have had some influence. That's still high praise coming from him. The veggie burger was delicious due to the texture of the wild rice. The menu included many, many burger options, including elk and whitefish varieties. There were also several great salad options (house-made dressings a plus!) and a number of vegetarian choices. Add exceptional service and we couldn't have been more satisfied.
