“Anniversary Trip”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We stopped here on our way home from a weekend on the north shore. We had never been hear but liked what we read. It lived up to what everyone had written. It was a casual atmosphere, the food was good and the service was very personable.

“For what it is, it's good”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

It's a brewpub, firstoff. Don't expect a bunch of salads and healty alternatives (although they do have some nice vegetarian options). I had a Beau Burger and some delicious Breakwater Wit (in house brewed beer, excellent). Some live music was nice later in the night.....not too loud, just right! Friendly service as well

“Good food, strange but interesting place”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We parked in the garage, which requires a bit of a walk through the building to get to the restaurant. We were on the lower level, and in looking for the restaurant we ended up in a basement bar in the building; not very nice and the bathroom was worse. Things got better as we headed down the hall. Nice shops, some fun historical information and photos on the walls, and finally the restaurant. The place was crowded, so we had to wait about 40 minutes. The food was quite good. We had vegetarian sandwiches (I think one was Portobello mushroom), and I had a pale beer which was quite good. The atmosphere was eclectic, casual, and friendly. Not a bad place to eat in Duluth.

“The Perfect Post-Boundary Waters Meal”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

We came out of a week long trip to the Boundary Waters looking for a burger and a beer. A quick look at Trip Advisor for help led us to Fitgers. Excellent choice of beer; the Irish Stout was exceptional. The guys ordered the Highland beef burger and I had the wild rice veggie burger pub style (nushrooms, grilled onions and chipotle mayo). Hubby said it was the best burger he's ever eaten, but admitted the past 7 days of dehydrated food may have had some influence. That's still high praise coming from him. The veggie burger was delicious due to the texture of the wild rice. The menu included many, many burger options, including elk and whitefish varieties. There were also several great salad options (house-made dressings a plus!) and a number of vegetarian choices. Add exceptional service and we couldn't have been more satisfied.

“Good Food, Good Beer, Nice location”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Was in Duluth a week or so back and had dinner with an work associate at Fitger's Brewhouse and Grille. Tried a couple of their brews beforehand at their pub across from the restaurant. Bartender (young lady) wasn't familiar with a "black and tan" so I had to sort of "educate" her on same, Beers were good, nice hoppy character, their Irish Stout was quite good, a bit heavy on the black malt so it had more of the burnt character. Had the elk burger in their restaurant, was quite pleased with it.

I'd go back and would recommend this to friends to try.
