“Good atmosphere and cold beer!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stopped in while walking around downtown, we stayed 2 hours. We met some interesting locals and other fun tourists. The beer was cold and the bartenders had great recommendations on different beers.

“Not the best place for an after work drink”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

The service wasn't the best I have ever had.
One person in our party ordered a Vodka/Cran and asked for Absolut Vodka. Once the drink came the server said they ran out of Absolut and topped it off with Stoli's without asking the patron if that was okay.

Don't go here if you go there on business expecting to expense a drink and meal, the bill comes written on a very small bright pink post it note. Not professional at all.
At least they offered to explain the bill.

“bad service and bad food”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

I rarely write reviews unless they were either a wonderful experience or a horrid one. the night we ate at Carmody's falls into the latter. It is a cute pub and looked like a great place to enjoy anpint and some pub fare. We were told that the menus were all out and so we waited 15 min for a menu.i finally reminded them we were waiting for a menu. The waiter was surly and refused eye contact so we ordered from the bar. We were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be a 20 wait for our food. We were fine with that an ordered another very cold Guinness. We wait for almost an hour and this time I grab the waiter and remind him about our pasty, bowl of soup and potato salad. So we then watch the soup being scraped out of a pan and put in a microwave, told the potato salad was out and only received half of the curdled salmon soup. We had already paid for our mea or we would have left long ago. The pasty came with instant potatoes that had some chopped garlic in it. I told the waiter that we had paid for the potato salad and a full bowl of soup. He took $4 and just slapped it on the table and walked away. We were not rude or demanding but tried hard to treat this fiasco with humor.to make a long story short, the food was horrid, the service even worse. I have never had such a bad experience before. Even the live music in back was so pitiful that we laughed. If you want a pub atmosphere please save yourself the disappointment and just head down to Dub Linn's... much better all around.

“Great Local Pub”
Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

A nice neighborhood "working man's" pub. We enjoyed an evening here with a local friend. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. A bit lacking in table service on a Friday night, due to staff shortage, but not too bad. Love, love, love the whisky menu and it's offerings. Nice live music, sit up front by the windows and you'll still here the music, be able to converse and people watch. We'll visit again on our next stop in Duluth.

Thank S B
