We drove into the fog and beauty of Duluth, then up to the Cotton Mansion for our honeymoon. The breakfast in the morning was spectacular, then off to a fun day shopping in Duluth or up the north shore hiking in the parks, back to be spoiled with wine, shrimp, cheese and crackers (or wonderful chocolate covered strawberries) from 4-6 in the afternoon, then a bath in the whirl pool with lavender bath salts and off to wonderful dinning in Duluth. Four days of being pampered and treated like royalty was a wonderful way of starting off our new life together.
The honeymoon suite above the carriage house was incredibly romantic. Then we spent our last night in the master suite in the mansion to the experience the grandeur of old money.
Ken & Kim, our hosts, were a delightful mixture of personal charm and stunning competence. While Kim intoxicated our senses with exceptional food, Ken would regale us with delightful stories of the mansions history.
We would recommend the Cotton Mansion to anyone without hesitation.
Have a wonderful time.
