“Not quite a rose garden when we visited!”

This year MInnesota has had a LONG winter, so when we were visiting Duluth, the Rose Garden was not yet in full swing! There were no flowers in early June, and just the beginning of budding leaves on the trees, however seeing just that it was clear to us that at some point in the summer, this place would be gorgeous! The lawn was impeccable maintained, as were the trees. It was very clean, very big, and very pretty! I'm bummed we were too early in the season to view this park in all it's glory, but it's a good excuse to come back!

Locals claim small plots in the rose garden and work hard to produce some amazing roses. There are benches set up around the garden, and it is a great spot to eat your lunch.

Located along the Lakewalk, this park is a Duluth gem. When the roses are blooming it is even more of a gem. A good pklace to pause and relax.

Fun place to visit any time of year, but in the summer on friday evenings; there are free movies projected on a big blow-up screen in this park! Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and have a great evening strolling through rose beds and watching a movie.

My sister had her outdoor wedding in the rose garden, and it was beautiful. It was on the most perfect, sunny July day (though pushing it temperature wise) that helped capture the beauty of the garden in the pictures. Most weddings from what I gathered have the ceremony in the gazebo they have right near the water (gorgeous background for photos) but there is also a large fountain that could also work.

The only thing that was cause for concern was that my sister's wedding was weeks after the really bad flooding that happened and when she called the garden to make sure that there were still actually some roses and flowers in the garden that were alive, they said they were not able to disclose that information. But in the end, everything worked out.
