I mentioned this in an earlier review of Canal Park. It looks small from the outside, but there is a lot inside. Several movies give and overview of the lakes and shipping. The exhibits are very well done. You should stop at this place.

This place is a good spot in which to learn about the great ore and grain carriers which have plied (and still do) the Great Lakes. Very good exhibits, and right on the waterway through which the great ships pass.

If you like martime history, you will absolutely love the visitor center. Right at the entrance to the harbor it has something for everyone. Even if you are not into martime lore, take a quick trip through the center...it's all free and has a nice gift shop.

Yes, it is free and if you do not like to read it may not be as appealing as a video game, but the Museum does provide hands on experiences as well as tanker information et al the Aerial Bridge. Displays are well done and it was well attended the day we were there. those who read and learn from history tend to avoid making the same mistakes, so history is important. There is a tug boat just out side the entrance and the Aerial Bridge is right beside it. lighthouses make this little corner a very special place...especially if a tanker comes through. So, lighten up and expand your horizons in the museum. You can do it in an hour.

I would rather spend more time outside in the canal/bridge area.
It's simple and not too interesting.
