The museum is free; we went back twice! There's lots to see here if you like boats, history and facts. It was a good way to learn about the treacherous storms that can happen near Duluth. Enjoyed seeing example of taconite up close and seeing how a cargo ship is loaded.

Our visit to Duluth always include a visit to this museum. They exhibit maritime artifacts, documents, publications, and photographs. Our five year old daughter enjoyed the exhibits and playing with all of the gagets.

We always like to get the most up to date info on boats that our arriving/departing and there is a wonderful view of the lighthouse/harbor area.

It is a great location to grab some shade from the sun if you are waiting to see a boat leave/arrive. They do not allow any food or drinks in the building.

The gift shop was a little lacking but we always find ourselves back at this museum everytime we are in Duluth.

This free museum is open year-round and offers something for everyone. There are a variety if different exhibits, many talks in the summer, shops heading in and out of the harbor, and great Canal Park people watching. It's a great stop for young and old. If you have any questions, the experienced staff will get then answered.

Great museum with the history of the Duluth harbor and maritime activity on the great lakes. Great for any history buff, but they also have exhibits that kids will like. A small museum, you can walk through in 10 minutes or take an hour or read everything in detail. They have monitors that tell when ships will be arriving and it is next door to the aerial life bridge. The museum is free, but parking is $1.50. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Duluth.
