“Great eye-opening experience”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

The views alone are worth visiting the Superior National Forest. I highly recommend hiking the Carlton Peak and spending the night near Temperance River. These may be the greatest views Minnesota has to offer.

If you're up for a short day hike, try out the Oberg Mountain loop. Dog and kid friendly area. I will definitely visit this area again.

I visited those areas along with a few others on a 5 day hike on part of the Superior Hiking Trail and couldn't be happier with my experience. I would recommend an experience like this to anyone who is looking for a incredible views and awesome camping experience!

Note: the camps are first come - first serve, but most people you run into on these trails are friendly and welcoming, and it is a fun time to share a camp with others and share stories of each other's hiking experiences.

“Good natural beauty; not worth the drive from Duluth”
Reviewed February 13, 2008

Not exactly in Duluth. It's about 1.5 to 2 hours drive from the City. The visitor center is in Duluth, but that's it.
