The bridge itself is cool. . .but the boats coming in are AWESOME!!!!!! My kids were fascinated each time they heard the boats coming! No matter where we were in town, we'd leave and head to the bridge to see the boats come in! My son could have sat here all week watching these ENORMOUS ships come in!

Watched a very large ship pass through under the bridge. Our grandkids were fascinated with the entire process.

I have always enjoyed the whole event of the ships coming into Duluth harbor, by blowing their booming horns, and the Lift Bridge answer alike. Then the bridge goes way up, as the ship comes though the canal so close you can see all the ship and deck hands. So much fun. Added plus, a nice museum while you wait. Walk out to the light house too.

Bring a folding chair, or just sit on the grass, and enjoy the comings and goings of boats and ships of many sizes. Each time there is an approach there is the rich sound of boat horns, the responding answer of the bridge operator, and then the "salutes" as the boat or ship passes under the bridge.

A camera is a must to capture views of vessels "threading" their way through the canal and into the harbor or exiting the harbor. The huge Lakers seem close enough to reach out and touch as they manuever past Bayfront Park.
