Loved the Holiday Inn at Detroit Lakes. We stayed here two nights during the 10000 Lakes Festival. We had a king sized room - it was very large and roomy. Bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very large and clean. Pool was a nice small size and had scheduled hours when the waterslide was open which was ideal for adults to pop in during off hours for a quiet swim. Television was large....everything was above average for this room and very clean. The contiental breakfast was worth the stay with a waffle maker and large selection of breads, cereals, muffins, etc.
The only downside we had to our room (room 25) is that it is located directly below the continental breakfast area. We did awaken to the sound of the vaccuum cleaner one morning at 6am. My husband phoned the front desk and they apologized and promptly stopped their vaccuuming at that time. At least we know they take pride in their cleanliness...we could also hear lots of footsteps above us as patrons got their breakfast. But other than that, it was a wonderful room -- they also had a computer with internet access in the lobby which was convenient. If we ever head through Detroit Lakes again we will definately stay here.
