We made a special trip into town for ice cream. It took some doing as the river was flooding on to the riverside streets. We had to take an alternate route. it was worth it. The town was quiet, but the ice cream shop was busy. We all got single scoops on sugar cones for $2.75. It was good ice cream. One wall of the shop is a display of bottled soda of various varieties. The servers scooping ice cream were pleasant. The few chairs out front were taken, so we walked across the street and climbed the temporary dikes to walk out onto the bridge and watch the river flow.
